Tony Abbott, The Real Cost of His Arse!

Tony Abbott, The Real Cost of His Arse.

Abbott sprung entering Newslimited building.

Abbott sprung entering Newslimited building.

With the revelation from BushfireBill and C@tmomma, from the Pub blog, of a

conversation that they had with a senior insider from the Canberra Press Gallery, that

Tony Abbott has regular (weekly) lunches at Murdoch HQ, the question arrises as to what the real cost of an Abbott government would be?

The main promise so far is that he will tear down the carbon price, in fact his entire  campaign, since the last election, has been based on this promise, so what does it mean?

Well for starters, he’s claiming that the election will be a referendum on the carbon “tax”, and that will give him a mandate to dismantle it and that the ALP should recognise his mandate and vote to scrap it…..WTF!      And the good fairy will turn the Simpson Desert into a rain forest…. oh wait, that’s his Direct Action Plan.

Anyway, how will he achieve this?

Well the first thing will be to introduce legislation into parliament, which will fail due to the fact that the ALP and the greens will definitely oppose it. Therefore he will, as he has already foreshadowed, seek to call a double dissolution.

Now to some costs;

As we know elections are very expensive (Millions of dollars) and a DD will not only further deplete the coffers, but give us  another campaign to go through!   Mmmmmmm? Something to look forward to!

As Morriscum is now talking about closing Manus Island, which is a part of their revamped Pacific Solution, it’s very difficult to know where their Asylum Seeker policy is headed, and with little or no hope of him stopping the boats, it’s impossible to quantify the costs of this policy.  $$$$$$$$$$$$$$?

We do know that the cost to families, pensioners, the lower paid and the broader community will be;

  • scrapping the School Kids Bonus
  • reducing pensions
  • reducing the tax free threshold from $18,200 to $6,000
  • scrapping the MRRT
  • reducing the Public Service by at least 20,000, which will lead to reduced services and service delivery.

These are a few of of the announcements so far that will have a financial and social impact, although I have noticed a toning down of the rhetoric on some of these promises since they were announced, presumably in the hope that we will forget that he said them.

What we haven’t been told, from the LNP at least, is the debt that Tony Abbott owes Murdoch and Co?     And he does owe Murdoch big time, as the LNP couldn’t afford the two plus years of free publicity that they’ve been getting from him and the rest of the complicit MSM!

So what may be the real cost of Abbotts arse?

Well we know that Murdoch started his anti ALP campaign, in earnest, after the announcement of the NBN, and a subsequent meeting with Abbott, so it’s a fair bet that the NBN is on the table, probably at “Mates rates”.

NBN Co

NBN Co FOR SALE (Cheap) (Photo credit: Dushan and Miae)

Why is the NBN so important to Murdoch?

  • Because it represents the biggest threat to his bottom line in this country.
  • Because he didn’t bother to update his business model to incorporate the internet and is now playing catch up.
  • Because if he controls the NBN, he controls the future of this country; communications, news, TV, movie distribution etc.
  • Because then he becomes even richer and more powerful, and controlling Abbott now means controlling Australia’s future!

Then there’s the ABC, that would make a nice addition to his empire…..At the right price of course   😉

Those are a few things Murdoch would like to get his grubby mits on.

There are also private health providers, like Ramsay Health in QLD who donated $100,000 to the LNP, and are now poised to take advantage of Costello’s audit recommendations.   There will be others, as well, who see supporting an abbott election not as donations, but as an investment in their future expansions, and placing themselves to take advantage of the ensuing, inevitable fire sale of assets.

The Post Office, Medicare, Roads and Transport as well as everything already mentioned and more, could be up for grabs due to The real cost of Abbotts arse!

For any that are wondering, the first in the trilogy was “Is Tony Abbot Australia’s own Silvio Berlusconi”, although his arse wasn’t mentioned, the inference of ownership, was clearly there! 😀

Gee that a vivid work of fiction worthy of any 911 “truther” or UFO nutter.
Most entertaining but also just as lacking in hard facts.

And as the master of lacking not only hard facts, but in fact any facts, the fact is that you are totally factless, and therefore not in a position to pass judgement on the “facts” because they don’t meet your factless standards. 😀

But thanks for being totally predictable, and consistent in your factlessness. 😀

      Cheers 🙂 😀 😆

Good question 😆 But I wouldn’t imagine Iain will think so, as not only is he lacking facts, truth and reason, he has no sense of humour, only a sense of rumour! 😀

Can you provide proof that is so?
Pictures of him arriving or leaving would be good, better yet pictures of Abbott sitting at the same table as a senior News executive would be good for your cause. But I have seen no evidence at all, just empty assertions.

I am not winning the hearts and minds at the Cafe, but then I never expected that I would , however in terms of the substantive argument I think that I am well ahead, both here and there.

Ian, you really don’t get the picture do you. Murdoch is the elephant in the room. TA is his minion along with this whole front bench.
Truth Seekers work is not one of fiction, it WILL BECOME A REALITY and it will be to the detriment of everyone in this great country of ours.
You keep bleating on about wanting hard facts. You wouldn’t know a hard fact even if you were hit over the head with it because unless you can just stop with the criticizing of anyone who doesn’t agree with your point of view for a short while, you just might, might come to realize that your idol has feet of clay. Your LNP is not the party you think it is, this I know from having been a Liberal supporter up until the Whitlam dismissal. It disquieted me so much that I then became a swinging voter. One who decided to look at policies that not only affected me, but my family and the people around me.
I could not and will not vote for the LNP with its current leader. The man is dangerous because he not only is subservient to his religious upbringing, but now will have to dance to the Puppet Master’s tune. This man will bring this country to its knees. He has shown and admitted that he lies. He is a boxer by nature, he ducks and weaves, trying to avoid being found out.
Well, the real truth will come to bear especially as there is still 6 months to go before the election.
The PM is governing for the good of the Australian people, not everyone will agree with all of the current policies as they currently stand, but all of the good policies that have been initiated by the ALP and implemented, if reversed by TA, will cause more harm to the people who these policies now benefit.
Ian, can you really justify following a LNP headed by their current leader, or anyone else for that matter? Take a step back, look deep into your social conscience and see if you really like what you see.

I do however think you are being overly kind to Iain, appealing to his social conscience, as I am unsure that he has one, going on his past history and his appreciation for Pickering 👿

But I do know your intentions are genuine 🙂 so maybe your appeal will be successful…….Here’s hoping 😀

      Sandra

We live in a democracy and that means that none of us are obliged to agree any other person about the nature of our leaders or the parties that they belong to. As it happens I am not just a blind and unthinking acolyte of the LNP.
Now I can see from your comment that you are carrying a great deal of emotional baggage about issues relating to religion and class, it saddens me that this so influences your opinions of politics in this country.

I must say though that I profoundly disagree with your claim that Gillard is governing for “the good of the Australian people” She is governing only for the benefit of the Labor party and with the vain hope that she can avoid the total humiliation of a massive landslide against her regime. I do have a social conscience by the way and I have done my time in a service club where we raised money and used those funds to make a better community. It taught me a very important lesson, namely if you don’t manage your money well enough you won’t be able to do the maximum good for your community. The sad fact is that Labor are woeful mangers of the nation’s finances and no matter how good their ideas may be they end up unable to fund those schemes.
I read today that Abbott is planning to make modest promises so that ,if possible he will be able to deliver more than the people expect. Sadly Labor in general and Gillard in particular have gone to the opposite extreme promising big and delivering small, not jsut once but continually. Its why no one believes her.

“Australia’s most needlessly wasteful spending took place under the John Howard-led Coalition government rather than under the Whitlam, Rudd or Gillard Labor governments”

Sadly the only truth and facts that Iain is interested in are those that he or his RW nut job mates make up themselves. 😯
He has been making the same spurious arguments on CW for two days now, and has been pointed to many facts that he simply ignores as irrelevant, because they disprove his arguments, or shows him up for the hypocrite that he is.

I allow his comments, in the interests of fairness, and to show how the RW nut jobs think, but I won’t let him take over the conversation or get too long winded, as he does on other sites.

Love your writings of late, although I could do with less Ian in my reading. I suppose every blog gets its pet troll issued by Lieberal central these days.

I fear what will happen if they get in, they will release the Lieberal sale catalog within a week or so with 2-3% of the sale price going to their mate Costello for his audit. When all said & done it was the only way he balanced the books, by selling the family silver.

I’m sorry to have to disagree with the idea of leaving R/W trolls comments to pollute the discussion, I realise it is the decent thing to do, only trouble is we are being mugs for doing it, if any of us go to any!! Lieberal blogs & make comments they are either deleted within minutes or never posted has been happening for 2 yrs now.

It is all about trying to give the impression that there is no left wing support, we are nobbling ourselves. Why give them even more support than the MSM do, we should play by the blog rules they set.

I know where you are coming from, Iain disrupts every thread that he posts on, and as I said before he spent two days labouring the same inane points on CW.

That’s why I told him not to reply again, as it just gets boring and annoying after the first couple of responses.

You would think that with his own blog he’d be too busy, but then going by his RW nut job ramblings I think it must be a pretty lonely place to hang out, that’s why he prefers other sites! 😯

I won’t ban him at this stage, but I will limit his posts to a few short ones, if he feels the need to visit and he can control himself, cos I know that other sites are getting pretty sick of him too, and if he keeps it up his sandpit will be his only option for playing in. 😀
