Austerity… The Right Wing Solution!

Campbell Newman and Tony Abbott. The Australian faces of Austerity

Campbell Newman and Tony Abbott. Two of the Australian faces of Austerity

Austerity, the right wing solution!

Following on from my last post I thought a poem would tell the story well, so here is my take on the future of our great nation under the Right Wing master plan    😯

Austerity, the right wing solution!

To assure us, for the long term

Our lands prosperity

We should all sign up to the right wing plan

For their austerity

The Conservatives, Libs and the Tory’s

And the US Tea Party too

All know that their austerity

Is good for me and you

As for us, to go without,

Is a thing of sheer delight

When it doesn’t apply in the same sad way

To those, from the rabid right

And their idea is very simple

Cause the poor a lot of pain

While the rich see opportunity

To increase their own net gain

The Pete Costello’s audit

Will set a cracking pace

For manic fiscal policy

A disaster and disgrace

They’ll sell off all our assets

At a bargain basement price

And employ you on a weekly wage

Of just a bag of rice

With penalty rates and work conditions

Confined to history

By big business friendly policy

That is a mystery

As they seek to wreck the unions

So they have complete control

Over all parts of your miserable lives

Your spare time and your soul

Whilst Abbott pays his “Women of Calibre”

To produce some spoilt brats

The rest are really struggling

To feed the family cats

And the increase to your super

They will quickly take away

So all retired millionaires

Will have no tax to pay

And reducing the tax free threshold

So the poor have less to spend

In shops and cafés and small business

Where more jobs come to an end

And the economy slows down more and more

Increasing personal debt

But the real joy of austerity is

It isn’t over yet

But the wealthy take advantage

Cos their means, justifies their end

As they acquire lots of assets

From T Abbott, the Moguls friend

While Murdoch rakes in billions

From the peoples NBN

And our ABC gets privatised

By those rabid right wing men

Who lacking social conscience

Just treat us all like fools

While slashing public funding

For hospitals and schools

But never fear, the Libs are here

To tell us all is well

And the things they’ll do will clear the poo

And deliver us from hell

But the cuts in public servants

Will put many on the skids

As they can’t afford the rent

And find it hard to feed the kids

While the services provided

Become less and less each day

As the propaganda spin machines

Tell us it’s the only way

And society starts to breakdown

From high levels of depression

As the economy follows the UK

Into triple dip recession

But all is fine and dandy

For the rabid ruling class

While the rest get beaten up by policy

Straight from Abbott’s arse

For the truth is, it’s self interest

That really rules the roost

While the rest of us wonder how we let

Ourselves get politically goosed

How many were conned by lies and spin

And treated just like fools

To join the ranks of the LNP

Ending up… as Murdoch’s… tools

TS! I came over to read your previous great post – and got turned on by austerity/prosperity! Held off for a few days ‘cos I thought you had a poem still in the pipeline. And here it is after all! Never mind, it is itself, original and different. Well done.

  5. orangefox says:

    Nice work. I’ll bookmark that.

  6. lefturnahead says:

Keep up the good work,i live in Queensland and i understand exactly what you mean,Tony Abbott and his Tea Party loons make Campbell Newman look like the fairy godmother, and thats saying something considering Newman and his thugs are on the right of Attila the Hun.

    • Truth Seeker says:

Lefturnahead, thanks for your comment 😎 and I agree entirely with your assessment 😯 WRT Attila the Hun 😆

Yes as much as I despise Newman for what he has done to QLD, Abbott is a scum sucking bottom feeder 👿 who will be a disaster for this country 😥

      Cheers 😀 😎

  7. jock says:

Another good one, your poem and the budget. In contrast to sales/Swan interview did you see robb mumble and stumble through interview with Albarichi on lateline.

Am searching for an “I love Julia” button badge. Any ideas.

    • Truth Seeker says:

      Jock, thanks for that 😀

Yes, the budget seems OK unless you listen to the LNP and the media 👿

I have been pretty busy the last couple of weeks and haven’t seen a lot of TV, so I missed the Robb interview 😦

I don’t know about a badge, although I think you can get them made fairly cheaply, but if you do manage to find some I would appreciate it if you can let us know 😀 as I am sure there are many that come here that would like to get one 😀

      Cheers 😀 😎

Just when you think Abbott and his slimeballs have sunk to a new low, the mongrels find a new way
“LABOR has reignited its attack on Tony Abbott’s treatment of women after the opposition denied a government MP leave from parliament to care for her sick child.

The Coalition quickly relented this morning, granting a pair to Member for Greenway Michelle Rowland, whose toddler daughter Octavia is believed to be suffering the flu and a severe fever.

But she was initially denied a pair, despite the opposition’s acknowledgement yesterday that her daughter was sick.”

Julia Gillard said Mr Abbott didn’t understand the needs of working women.”

    • Truth Seeker says:

cornlegend, thanks for your comment 😀 and yes I saw that this morning, 😯

They really are scum trying to make out that they didn’t know 🙄 but that’s them all over. 😦

      Cheers 😀

  10. cornlegend says:

Even more pissed with ABC 24 for the way they are reporting it
Their banner, “Opposition grants Labor MP leave to be with sick child”
Never bothered to mention the original refusal

  11. Oliver Cromwell Jr. says:

This poem reminds me that all the Jackasses are not residing in Washington D.C.
They’re writing left wing rubbish, disguised as poetry, in Australia.

    • Truth Seeker says:

Oliver, welcome and thanks for your comment 😯

Sadly your name speaks volumes, and outs you as your namesake was , as a rabid conservative nut job, which if you believe in austerity as a way to improve our country, is well and truly confirmed. 🙄

If you wish to pursue your idiotic claims then please feel free to point to where these retrograde policies are actually working, otherwise kindly POQ back to your MSM and shock jock fact finding, and leave us who are prepared to think for ourselves and look past their lies and deceptions, free of their crap and your stupidity.

      Cheers 😀

  12. CC Cairns says:

An interesting and clever use of language, rhythm and rhyme. But most importantly, for me, the content has substance. It does frustrate me when I hear that bourgeois mantra that “Art should be created for its own sake and be free of politics”. I believe the romantics—particularly Shelley, Byron and Wordsworth, had plenty to say on this issue of social commentary. So fair play to you, man.
I believe that the time for the poets and journalists is now, and that we should all be taking Coleridge’s stance of agitation and provocation before free speech is marched to the shredder; particularly when the major countries of the world continue to resemble the face of the modern police state.

    Good on you!

    Cheers, CC Cairns

    • Truth Seeker says:

CC Cairns, welcome to my site 😀 and thanks for your fine comment 😎

      I agree entirely. 😎

long before the modern forms of media, it was the job of the bards of old not only to entertain, but to tell stories and spread the news of the day using songs and poetry. 😀

“I believe that the time for the poets and journalists is now, and that we should all be taking Coleridge’s stance of agitation and provocation before free speech is marched to the shredder; particularly when the major countries of the world continue to resemble the face of the modern police state.”

I think this statement sums the situation perfectly 😎 Well said!

I greatly appreciate your input. 😎

      Cheers 😀
