Said the Bishop to the Indonesians.

Julie Bishop, Deputy lLeader of the Liberal party, and shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

With all the recent discussion about Abbott’s plan to tow back the boats, “Where it is safe to do so”, and Julie Bishop’s foray into her portfolio area of foreign affairs, saying that she and Abbott have had meetings and discussions with “senior Indonesian officials” indicating their willingness to deal with a future coalition government in an area that they have previously refused to countenance, one has to wonder who is telling the truth?

And despite all sorts of denials coming fast and furious from Indonesia WRT  those claims, and to her latest assertions that they are upset that Australia is not doing enough to deter people smugglers, when they are already snowed under with refugees, and none of those that Abbott wants to tow back to Indonesia originated from there in the first place, but are merely passing through, again one has to wonder who is telling the truth?

And with the alternate foreign minister intimating that the Indonesian Ambassador doesn’t really know what is going on and is out of touch with the policy direction of the government that he represents, one has to wonder, is she fit for this, or for that matter any other, public office?

So with all these questions hanging over Julie Bishop, I felt compelled to put my own take on the whole Bishop debacle.   😀

Said the Bishop to the Indonesians.

Said the Bishop to the Indonesians

Foreign Affairs will be my game

When that Labor red head gets the chop

So you best remember my name

🙄

Cos I’ll tell you what you’re going to do

And you know it won’t be pretty

And if your Ambassador doesn’t like it

He’ll like it less when I get shitty

😯

I’ll negotiate with pussy calls

And demonstrate my claws

And you know you’ll take those damned boats back

Cos they’re not ours, they are yours

😆

And you know there’s nothing you can say

That’s going to change my mind

Cos I may look like a lady

But I’m not honest, fair or kind

😀

And I’ll kick you in the goolies

To force my own agenda

Cos the boss said that it’s up to me

To prove he’s no truth bender

🙄

So I’ll strut my stuff on the international stage

And push the Liberal plan

Of Murdoch’s domination

Through Australia’s Abbott man

😯

And world leaders, will all bow and scrape

To my take on foreign affairs

Cos I won’t take no for an answer

I’ll give them one…of my… death stares

🙄

The thought of that woman representing this country overseas, & involving herself with our foreign policy, fills me with horror.

Makes me feel ill just thinking about it so I won’t say any more. 😦

The online Guardian Au challenged the odious JBishop’s usual claim that they “quoted her out of context” when she stated that the Indonesian government would take back the boats. They published her actual comments. 😆 This is, of course, something she & her fellow cretinous opposition shadow ministry morons aren’t used to. They have trouble coping with factual journalism, something our current lot of MSM journos are having trouble with also.

It warmed the cockles of my heart when I read it after reading your poem, TS. 🙂

Joy, thanks for the update, and yes, and on the strength of the oppositions mendacious ways, I think we should rename them the “Shallow Ministry” 😀

Keep up the good work 😎

This certainly isn’t the first time that J.Bishop has mucked it up and substantially. Previously when she did some grandstanding about turning the boats back she was called in for discussions with the Indonesian Ambassador who reminded her that the Indonesian government had previously stated that they will not be receiving any of Australia’s “returns”. Indonesia has a huge refugee problem and considers that a wealthy country such as Australia can handle what is just a small handful by comparison.

Yes I think she should stick to what she knows, which apparently isn’t much 😯 other than pussy calls, claws and death stares. 😀

But then she is the deputy LOTO, and with Abbott the leader with nothing, it would be safe to assume that his 2ic would have even less? 😀

      Cheers 😀

    Hi Truth Seeker,
As Min says, this isn’t the first time Julie Bishop has stuffed up, both as shadow treasurer and shadow foreign minister. I have just re-read the entertaining/frightening Crikey article from 2010.
    http://www.crikey.com.au/2010/05/26/greg-sheridan-was-right-about-julie-bishop-that-is/
It seems she has learned nothing in the past three years.

Well done, Truth Seeker, you’ve beaten me to it with Julie’s Death Stare which I have used in my latest too! But this is really good. I’ll still put mine up and finalise my notes later. I was waiting for the responses that are sure to appear to that latest Guardian you refer us to. And now I’ll have to find a different image – Julie’s death stare really is something, isn’t it.

    Another good one.
Have just heard turnbull making another attack on Shorten and Gov over asbestos. He knows his fraudband is a loser and the lnp are determined to destroy the NBN as they know it is a vote winner for ALP, with no genuine interest in health and safety.

Morning Jock, and thanks for your comment 😀

Yes their lies and spin, and look over there, nothing to see here moments are all about trying to discredit the NBN so that their “Fraudband” will look more attractive. 😯

They take us all for fools that will believe whatever they tell us, if they say it often enough. Sadly there are some fools that will 😦 but decent, honest people like your good self will keep calling them out on their lies. 😀

Hi Truthie, What a bizarre little scenario the Indonesia kerfuffle has been. Apart from ‘how dare they hold talks such as they claim to have done? Don’t we get to vote first? “, there’s the little matter of the Indonesian Ambassador who’s not happy, Jan. Ya gotta love it.

Yesterday I sent this email to Scott Morrison, and will pass on any reply I get

“Dear Mr Morrison, I have a question of you in your capacity as Minister for Immigration.

Part of your policy in regard to people claiming to be asylum seekers approaching Austalia by boat from the general direction of Indonesia, is to “turn the boats around where safe to do so”, I have been trying to envisage how this might be done, and have imagined being present at the discovery of one of the many overloaded boats off Xmas Island.

As I think it highly unlikely you would suggest that the boat be simply taken in tow with all remaining on board, I presume the occupants would have to be off loaded on to a suitable vessel, probably an Australian naval ship, and the empty boat tied to said ship for towing. Could you please suggest what the actual prodedure might then be upon reaching Indonesian territorial waters. As the boat would have no official details of actually having left from Indonesia, and the authorities having clearly stated that they would not accept this type of vessel in to their country, what would you now do with these people and their boat.

I consider this to be one of many vital pieces of information I need to assess in trying to decide whether to vote for your party in the upcoming election.”

Well said, Mark, but don’t hold your breath waiting for a response from this arrogant POS.

They have also neglected to mention that their Turn Back The Boats policy would most likely be breaking the International Law of the Sea & ordering the RAN to commit acts of piracy by boarding these boats & removing their fuel.

Gospel according to Mark, thanks for your comment 😎

Yes, it will be interesting to hear his response, if in fact you get one 🙄

The reality is though, that they will not be able to enact this part of their alleged policy, as for starters as soon as the people smugglers realise that they will try to turn the boats around, the crew will be instructed to scuttle the boat, leaving the asylum seekers in the water, and needing to be rescued.

Secondly, it is my understanding that to board a boat without provocation is tantamount to piracy under international law.

Thirdly, I believe that once an asylum seeker sets foot on Australian property as in a Navy vessel, they are deemed to be on Australian soil and therefore have rights under international law to claim asylum.

Now that is just my understanding, but I am pretty sure that that’s the case.

Keep up the good work, and I look forward to your updates WRT your email.

      Well done 😎

      Cheers 😀

I think that you will find that you’re not alone in the request for more information, as people start to realise that the LNP are full of it with their policies, or lack thereof, seeing as Hockey has already announced that they will not release much detail until after the election and their commission of audit, channeling Abbott’s Mini Me… Newman. 😯
