Cos treasury hasn’t got Sloppy Joe’s calculator!

Cos treasury hasn’t got Sloppy Joe’s calculator!

Only a few days into the election campaign, and already we have that mendaciously meddling megalomaniac Murdoch telling us that we should vote for his boy Abbott.

This was Saturdays front page, before the election announcement.

This was Saturdays front page, before the election announcement.

This was the the front page that caused so much anger.

This was the the front page that caused so much anger.

What he doesn’t tell us is that it’s in his best interest not ours!    😯

Now I can only speak for myself, but I, sure as hell, won’t be told by the likes of Murdoch who I should be voting for.

After all this is a man who’s credibility as a business man has been questioned around the world, and has

been completely and comprehensively discredited by the phone hacking scandal and consequent closing of The News of The World, in the UK.

And this is also the man who gave up any rights to vote or even have a say in our political future, when he voted with his feet, to turn his back on the country of his birth for the sake of money and power.   So as far as I’m concerned, the front page that we should be seeing is;

This is the front page that we should have seen!

This is the front page that we should have seen!

We have also seen Abbott, Hockey and many of the LNP, both MP’s and candidates, avoiding answering questions by doing more dodging and weaving than a Maroons fullback in a length of the field try.

The real shocker for me though was when we were told by Hockey and Abbott that they will not be producing a bottom line for their costings, none of which we have, as yet, seen anyway, but then to add insult to injury, we were told that if we want, we can do the sums.   WTF?

So let’s get this right:

  1. They don’t trust treasury, to make forecasts, when they are the only ones that have all the relevant data to work with.
  2. They don’t seem to understand that a forecast is a prediction of a future situation based on modelling using the best available, relevant data. It is not a crystal ball, that will give a perfect view of the future.
  3. They would rather rely on the same sort of process that they engaged in at the last election, where the accounting firm involved, were shown to have used shonky accounting practices, except that they will now have to find others to do the work, , as their first choice has since gone broke and closed down.
  4. They are refusing to give the voting public a fair and honest comparison of the bottom line on policy promises, and the question is “WHY?”
  5. They want you and me to take their word for the figures that they produce, which they refuse to have tested under Peter Costello’s charter of budget honesty, and then do the sums ourselves to come up with THEIR bottom line, so as to be able to make an informed decision about who can manages the economy best???

Now you can call me naive, but it appears to me that it’s not only the numbers that don’t add up!

Not only have they tried to cast a cloud of doubt over the integrity of the public servants and processes of treasury, who by the way they will have to work with if (God forbid) they do win, but they are expecting us to trust them to accurately cost policies that are big on aspirational rhetoric, and almost totally lacking in detail.

Policies that even their own candidates can’t explain.

So while the LNP continue to encourage people smugglers to send more boats, in a blatant and desperate attempt to prove that the PNG solution wont work, and con people into believing that theirs is the only one that will.

And they will not, and cannot properly cost that policy, or for that matter any of their other policies, while they refuse to follow the charter of budget honesty, the question for them is;

“How can we believe a word that you say, about any of your policies, when you won’t follow the protocol set down by your own P Costello, in the “Charter of Budget honesty” that he introduced, so that we the voters can make an informed decision?”

And the only answer that I can come up with is;

Cos treasury hasn’t got Sloppy Joe’s calculator!

Sloppy Joes calculator

Sloppy Joes calculator

Hi Kate, thanks for your comment and feedback, 😎

Yes there’s some great images out there 😀 and that particular one said exactly what needs to be said 😯

I’ve been fairly busy this week, so I haven’t had much time to visit your site since the weekend, but I hope to get over to see what you’ve been up to later today or tonight 😀

There’s just so much going on since the election was announced 😦 and I’m flat out keeping up with it all, 🙄 as well as doing the stuff I have to do 😦

    As usual…spot on TS!

One point that constantly annoys me is their stance on the Mining Tax.

LNP say they will get rid of it because it costs jobs, investment…blah blah…but then ridicule it because it hasn’t earned anything like what it was flagged to! Why isn’t it making the billions predicted!…because it is a profits tax stupid!! Why would you get rid of a tax that, by your own admission, is not particularly onerous on the super profit earners it’s aimed at? It’s there for when super profits are actually made, at which time it also will not be particularly onerous for those paying it!

They say it has only generated, last I heard, some $120 million, instead of the billions predicted…..sorry…was that $120 MILLION….are they seriously saying $120 mil, that nobody has really missed is not worth collecting?!! Even if that was all it collected annually, think of what can be done with that amount every year!

If I am missing some vital point that helps this all make sense, please tell me!

    • Truth Seeker says:

Mark, thanks for that mate 😀 I appreciate it. 😎

I agree entirely, and I for one, certainly wouldn’t sneeze at $120 mil if someone handed it to me, and when there is such a write down in tax receipts, you would think that a lazy $120 mil would come in very handy for any government?

But it’s all about perceptions, and sadly for the LNP the growing perception is that they are economic dickheads! 😯

And I can say with all confidence that you, my friend, have missed nothing, cos there is no sense to be made of anything much that dribbles out of them. 😦

Keep up the good work 😎 and thanks for your continued support 😎

      Cheers 😀

We let the filthy old scumbag sell his birthright and still own the majority of Media in this country.

I will happily have a face to face, or email discussion on religion with anyone who’s interested, but think it is counter productive to try and force my own views on anyone else, as it is a very personal thing.

As far as moderation goes, only new commenters get caught up, and once they are approved, they don’t get caught again unless they change names, or misspell their original, which sometimes happens.

As I know many of the trolls from my browsing and commenting on other sites, I don’t allow them much latitude, so they usually don’t come back more than once 😀 I only block the worst offenders, but warn the others once they have been approved, that I won’t take their crap 😯

Here we are day 3 into the election and you are already firing on all cylinders, please do not burn yourself out.
Where can we buy sloppy’s calculator I need it when chatting to my rusted on Liberal neighbour, just to explain things to him.

Only a few days ago he said to me he can understand why governments go into debt and borrow for big infrastructure projects.
My reply was that is what they are doing re the NBN, something he does not see the need for and opposes, its the cost you know, even though he like me has a Transact n/megabit connection.

Hi Bilko, sorry it’s taken me a while to reply, but I’ve been busy all afternoon, and only just got back.

Thanks for your comment and support 😀

I think the only option for his calculator is to copy and print a pic of it 😦

Mate there is a very good article on the NBN by Bushfire Bill at “THE PUB” that’s worth a read, and may give you some ammo for your next exchange 😀

      The NBN: It’s a No-Brainer

      Hope it helps 😀

Yes he certainly laid it out well, it’s a shame he can’t debate that lying piece of doggie do Turdball. Saw him at a presser yesterday, and wanted to throw something at the TV 👿

Did you see that your nurses commented, and asked after you mate 😀

I did give them a brief run down, but I wasn’t sure how exactly how the recovery’s coming along 😉 so I couldn’t be too specific.

          Cheers 😀

nurses1968/Pauline, thanks for your comment 😎 and kind words 😀

Cornie is doing great, and is back to his old self, which is to say that he is behaving in an appropriate manner for someone determined to grow old disgracefully 😀 which means that he fits in here perfectly 😀
But I’m sure he will tell you himself, when he sees your comment.

For all of us here we are grateful that you took such good care of him, and it’s good to have him back in fine form 😀

It’s also good to know that you are out there, checking in and commenting from time to time. I enjoy and appreciate your feedback 😎

To you and all you staff, thanks.
I am recovering well, keeping my blood pressure under control, my stress levels to zen like state and continuing to maintain my status as a mature aged, calm rational and forgiving soul.
Peace be with you all, brothers and sisters, as I sit here about to meditate.

        PS.
        Truthy,
did you see that freaking idiot Turnbull has some problems with staff.and Abbott the moronic idiot has taken a fairly unnatural fancy to some poor womans hair !
still, what do you expect of these filthy bottom feeders

Mate I think you might be casting aspersions on “filthy bottom feeders” 😀 although I have to admit to having made similar comparisons myself 😯

Turnbull is IMHO even worse in some ways than Abbott himself, as we all know that Abbott is a lying, gormless thug, but Tutnbull tries to make out he is something better, but he’s just a better dressed and more devious in his dishonesty. 👿

Thanks for the link BTW. 😎

How can they say the paid parental scheme will be paid by a 1 1/2 % levy on big business if you then give big business the 1 1/2 % back to them in the form of tax cut? It seems to me the taxpayer will be subsidising highly paid women who would still choose to have children whether or not there was a PPS. And please explain how having a baby will improve productivity? Talk about rubbery figures!

Yes good point, and I’m totally with you 😀 I’m sure that’s why they won’t provide a bottom line on their figures 😯

But the truth is that big business is not happy about it anyway, and some of the Nats have said that they will cross the floor if it comes to a vote in the house, so for a signature policy, it’s in trouble before he even starts 😀

But the truth is that without Murdoch backing him he would already be dead in the water 😯

Yes, that is a problem. I have only dealt with my own comments. The only way I can se, is for Patricia to go in behind your dashboard.

Just send that one to trash, and get Patricia to repost on the other page.
