Tony Abbott, is the LNP’s gaffer!

Tony Abbott, is the LNP’s gaffer!

As the second week of the election gets under way,  Abbott shows himself to be the LNP’s  “Gaffer” but not in the traditional meaning of the word (Boss or Leader), but rather the one who makes “Gaffes” .

"Missed it by that much"

“Missed it by that much”

Now most have seen the photo of “Tones” Kissing the back of a woman’s head (Creepy), and  heard of the “Suppository of Wisdom” gaffe, which inspired many including yours truly, to produce some fun responses.

But since that one,  he has added to the list with;

  • The “Sex appeal” Gaffe, referring to those Right wing pinups, Jackie Kelly and Fiona Scott?   😯
  • Referring to same sex marriage as “Fashion of the moment”.

And there is one more, which is my personal favourite, which I will cover shortly.

Firstly, I have to say (In the interests of full disclosure) that I personally find no sex appeal in anyone who spends their life, talking lies, spin, slogans and complete and utter crap, including telling us what a great bloke Tony Abbott is, and how they (The LNP women) “get” him.  But that’s just me!   😀

imagesHaving said that, and discounting my own definition of “Sex imagesAppeal” (Which certainly doesn’t include either of these women), Abbott excusing this gaffe as “A daggy dad moment.”  is casting aspersions on daggy dads, and in IMHO, people with real sex appeal everywhere, and he should  be immediately gaoled, for those contemptuous slurs.

How dare he?   😯

Of course there is also the issue of inferring that a woman’s sex appeal is a part of her suitability for a job, which could be seen as sexual harassment, although in Abbott’s case it’s more of an indication that he is;

  1. A dirty old man?
  2. A male chauvinist?
  3. A sexist?
  4. A dickhead?
  5. All of the above

Now when it comes to same sex marriage, whether you are for or against it, the inference that it is some sort of “fashion of the moment” adds nothing to the debate, and shows, once again, that Abbott’s head is full of nothing but silly slogans.

But my personal favourite, which has not even been recognised as a  “Gaffe”, is the decision that he declared on Wednesday, that he would not make deals with any of the “minor” parties.

Now I may be wrong here, but the last time I looked, and for as far back as I can recall including every election that I have witnessed in this country, with the recent exception of QLD, the LNP  represents a “Liberal, National Party” coalition.

Now a coalition tends to imply that a “Major” party and a “Minor” party join forces (add their numbers together), to form a government, when neither would be able to govern in their own right!

The Nationals “ARE” a minor party!

So does this mean that;

  1. The Libs and Nats have merged as in QLD, and not told us?
  2. The Libs are hoping to get the numbers to form government alone, and not told the Nats?
  3. This is just another brain fart designed to fool the voting public?
  4. This is the first of many broken promises by Abbott, even though the election has not yet been held?

With Abbott, there are two things that you can bank on in this election campaign, and they are;

  1. There will be more “Gaffes” made.   😯
  2. He will make many promises and commitments that he will simply walk away from, if we are stupid enough to make him PM.   😦

Cos;

Tony Abbott is the LNP’s gaffer!

    Hi Truthie. He’s unbelievably silly, isn’t he? The trouble is, though, that so are many of our fellow voters, and so was George W. Bush, so let’s not be complacent.

    Lovely stuff, as always.

And as I get older I find I get more strident… always wanted to be someone’s eccentric great aunt… hwo says I succeeded, with honours!!!

    The same guy who thinks his sleazy stuff , in Public,is just a daggy dad moment, has relentlessly vilified Peter Slipper over, fairly tame things that were said in private. Not only that, they are trying to anihilate the man and his family and break him with legal fees, to disqualify him from life, forever..

    If indeed, the Liberal party really considered, the contents of Peter Slippers private text, so rude, , why announce it to the world in Parliament.

    Tony Abbott, is a vile worthless Grub, who has no right to be denigrating Our countries highest office, by suggesting that he is suitable as a candidate for it. He is just a sleaze.

    Mate,
    you and I are from different planets in regard to Mr, Slipper.
    I hope Labor’s Bill Gissane flogs him, and Brough.
    I am a strong supporter of Ashbygate., but not for Mr Slippers sake.
    Brough, Ashby and the assorted Liberal slimeballs knew they could do slipper in a preselection.
    This is all about bloody treason.
    A gang of slimeballs , targetting Slipper, for the express purpose of bringing down a democratically elected Government.
    They had tolerated Slippers antics for years.
    Roll on Ashbygate, and I hope Slipper wins, and takes them to the cleaners.
    But thats only because they tried to bring down the Government.
    My memory of Mr Slipper extends for the more than 2 decades as a LNP member, doing stuff all for his electorate, and laying the boot into Labor at every opportunity.
    It was Slippers vote that put Abbott in the leadership over Turnbull {1 vote }
    Sorry mate, absolutely no sympathy for the scumbag.
    His 20+ years of LNP skullduggery cement that.
    Wish him luck with Ashbygate though, as there are a lot of his former “colleagues” and “mates” who deserve to be locked up for treason, and a heap of other things 😀

    Oh… you lot sure do crack me up 😆 Cornlegend I wish I had your little red song book… whatever it is. It reminds me of mum’s story of when she was a kid in Port Adelaide during the Great Depression… She would attend evening meetings, with her mum, and loved the singing. Skipping home one night she burst into verse and got “cuffed around the ear” and told to shut her “Gob”. She was, of course, singing loudly and joyously… “We’ll keep the red flag flying here… etc” They’d been attending the banned meetings. 😮
    To finish this monologue… mum said that it was only the Communist Party that did anything effective to help alleviate the suffering… e.g. they’d come around warning that the rent collector was coming and help carry the furniture out into the street… then when it was safe they’d carry the furniture (which was largely fruit boxes etc.) back in. She also could hardly keep her anger under control when telling how on the weekends the rich & powerful would come for “Sunday drives” to gawk at the families living in the street outside the empty houses… 😦
    The thing that worries me about this “joke” of an Abbott is that he may actually get elected… after all I did live through the Whitlam Affair and “Kerr’s cur…” Toodles…

      My will is easy to decide,
      For there is nothing to divide.
      My kin don’t need to fuss and moan,
      “Moss does not cling to a rolling stone.”

      My body? Oh, if I could choose
      I would to ashes it reduce,
      And let the merry breezes blow,
      My dust to where some flowers grow.

      Perhaps some fading flower then
      Would come to life and bloom again.
      This is my Last and final Will.

    Back to business. One thing I didn’t get my head around this morning was the ‘daggy Dad’ moment. What kind of ‘daggy Dad’ could he possibly be referring to? Pipe and slippers or raincoat flasher? Doesn’t he mean ‘dirty old man’ moment? Is this what his daughters think a daggy Dad is like? Someone who, when he sees a woman, sees a possible sexual conquest or an old bag whose ankles are too thick? I wonder what a daggy Dad is really like – not like Tony Abbott, that’s for sure.

      Too right Kate, but this is a bloke who carts his daughters around in outfits that my Dad would have looked at and suggested I go back to my room and get dressed, and he does it no doubt for the vote magnet he sees blokes like him want.

      Eeerck.

      A daggy dad is the bloke that is always there, he may not be a stylish sort of fella but he is a loyal and loving man who would never use his offspring to advance his cause. He tells truly awfull jokes and because he is the epitome of everything a kid could want they groan but never think the less of him.He turns up in the wrong clothes, usually with the wrong car(kids can be shitfull), but he always turns up.He doesn’t like lots of things, but if his kids suddenly develop an interest in Roller Derby he reckons it’s great.He will always unconditionally love his kids and he will always nourish and protect them, but he will never ever use them for advantage.

      I could go on and on and on but I reckon you all know what I am trying to say,albeit in a clumsy manner.

      Abort has no idea what a ‘daggy dad” is and he will never be recognised as being in that esteemed company, because a ‘daggy dad’ is a good and true and generous person , and he is none of these things and never will be.

    Truthie, thanks for verbalising my long held frustration about the liberals and their minor/miner friends the nationals. (ex nation leaders on coal and gas boards, stuff the farmers) The msm assume nats are going to win Windsor and Oakeshott’s seats. I live in Oakeshott’s and there is a good Labour candidate Peter Alley and a very popular independent Steve Atkins who could stuff the nats don’t know whats happening in Windsor seat.
    On reading matter I’ve been reading a lot of anti-colonial history written by the natives. Its good to see bush/howard continued the habit of interfering in the affairs of others, when their predecessors drove the subjugated into fundamentalism, Fidel and Ho into communism, the Afghans into Taliban while supporting all sorts of right wing dictators. What war will rabbott drag us into while he sits safely in the lodge with his feet up.
    Sorry for the doom and gloom. Now you see why I need your humour in the mornings. I love the wit of truthie in the morning.

      Yes I have to admit that I was saddened to hear that Oakeshott and Windsor were not standing again, as they’re two of the true gentlemen of politics, and will be a loss to the parliament. 😦

      I really hope that Joyce misses out, as I agree that the Nats have done nothing for their constituents for a long time, and are only there to make up the numbers for the Libs. 😯

      I just wish that the MSM would pick up on the fact that Abbott has said that he won’t make deals with minor parties, and point out that he already has! 😯

      As far as reading material goes, I tend to go for fantasy, as that is my form of escapism; to get away from reality for a while 😀 but I don’t get a lot of time these days 😦

      Thanks again for your input mate 😀

        Hey Truthie…. see you like to read fantasy (love it!!)… I really suggest you read the earlier mentioned books by Ernest Callenbach, especially the one titled “Ecotopia Emerging” interesting take on how to organise a new government that actually rules for the people not the corporations, now that is one fantasy that I would like to escape to!!! Got the last ‘Wheel of Time’ book sitting on my bookshelf waiting to be read… just can’t seem to find the time to get to it with all that is going in the real world right now…

          Mel, at the moment, I don’t have much time for reading, as I am busy with writing for my blog and when I get the time, bits for the writers group that I belong too.

          I also manage their blog, and try to get some of my early stuff together for that, albeit not very successfully at the moment 😦

          Having said that, I have read the last book in “The Wheel of Time” series, which was a long time coming 😯 and I am currently working my way through The Last Chronicles of Thomas Covenant”.
          I have also read some of Brandon Sanderson’s own books, which he was writing prior to and during his work to finish off Robert Jordan’s series.

          There is also a relatively new author by the name of Patrick Rothfuss who is very good.

          I am also writing my own fantasy novel with its own soundtrack, but there just isn’t enough time to do it all at the moment 😦 so it, like many other projects, are on the back burner at least until after the election. 😥

          My studio has bookshelves full of fantasy novels, and I will keep adding to them, as I just love that genre. 😀 And hopefully my own will take its place among them eventually 😎

          Cheers 😀

            I know.That is what makes it on the one hand hilarious, and on the other a terrifying prospect of a lunatic running around the world demeaning our country by trying to out do every other idiot, be it putin or others who have no idea and less care about diplomacy and the other niceties that are required by our PM.

            Should have explained my hilarity better,but I could visualise abort humping putins leg as a gesture of good will or some such, he really will be out of control if he wins and then has to represent us in any sphere where he has no bolt,hadley,jones,turdoch or akerman to tell him each and every day what a great bloke he is.

            Maybe I should be reading more serious tomes, I am letting my imagination really run away

              And there was no need to explain, as I hoped that someone would see both the funny side of it plus the more serious aspect of having Abbott represent us on the world stage, and you got both,,, so well done 😀

              And I personally think that half the problem with the world, and the LNP in particular is No Imagination, so I would respectfully request that you don’t change a thing 😀 as I always enjoy and appreciate your feedback and input.

              I would also like yours and other commenters feedback on an idea that I have had for a separate page called “The Lounge”, which would be an open forum where commenters could discuss such things as books, music and anything else that people talk about or share when they are just chatting with friends. 😉

              That’s why I thought it would be a good idea now to see what others thought about the idea, and whether it was worth a try???

    Truthie, heard on news mirabelly is getting a hard time. The locals are realising she is a useless nasty windbag. On reading I force 40 mins early morning on history/politics and at least 30 min fiction in afternoon. Have read tolkin and rowling several times. The triumph of good over evil lifts me out depressing reality. Being a Scotsman chuckled all the way through terry prachets? wee free men. Not keen on sci-fi unless it is humorous (hitch hikers/red dwarf). Lounge would be worth a try although I have some obscure tastes. (no rude remarks).

      Have read a lot of Terry Pratchet, mainly his more serious Fantasy series.
