LNP trough snouting!

LNP trough snouting!

It’s amazing to me that, finally, the journos in this country have decided that they will cast a casual eye over the LNP, and their expenses.images

The truth is that the fifth estate has been highlighting these issues for most of the last term of government, while Abbott was “Pollie pedalling” his way, from his alleged volunteering, and “charity work” straight to the expenses claims office.

Now maybe it’s out of sheer boredom, as a result of the Abbott’s silence, over many of the issues that previously occupied their front pages and headlines for much of the last two terms, or maybe it’s because now that their job of helping to get the government that Murdoch and the big end of town wanted, is done, they have decided to actually report some news?   What a novelty?

The thing is though, that Abbott ran on a platform that included “stopping the waste”, most of which, it appears, can be directly related to LNP expenses claims?   😯

We know that weddings are a particular area of trough snouting by the LNP, and it has just come to light that as well as Sophie Mirabella’s wedding, Abbott also claimed expenses for attending Peter Slipper’s wedding too, where, as guest of honour, he held up proceedings by being late, and then as history has recorded, went out of his way to destroy Peter Slipper’s career.

The thing that we as a country should be more than a little concerned about is that George Brandis is now the highest law officer in the land, and is rewriting the code of conduct for MP’s… WTF?

This is the man who has his fingerprints all over the Craig Thomson affair where he (Thomson) has been chased to the point of stalking by the LNP, supported by the AFP and state police forces, predominantly Victoria’s, but also NSW’s, for misusing an HSU credit card.

Now apart from the fact that the pursuit of Thomson, borders on the obsessive, and that much of the evidence has been discredited, the truth is that there were no rules or guidelines  attached to the use of the HSU credit cards at the time anyway… WTF?

So the question has to be asked; How can someone be charged with misusing something that had no rules or guidelines attached to its use?

Likewise for the Ashbygate affair, where Slipper was chased and hounded, primarily for the sake of the LNP getting Mal Brough back into parliament via Slipper’s safe LNP seat of Fisher.

The strange thing is that Brough, has had a cloud hanging over his head, over his previousimages time as a minister, and has, as a result of his actions in the Ashbygate conspiracy, been roundly condemned by Justice Steven Rares, with regards to the stealing of Slipper’s diary extracts and his involvement in trying to bring down a duly elected government through his associations with Ashby, Doane as well as others.

But I digress   😯

With past and present LNP MP’s, including the current AG, Brandis, justifying their use of tax payers funding their sojourns to mates weddings etc, despite some of them paying the money back, when being caught out, the question is if, as they claim, discussing politics or associating with politicians is reason enough for a legitimate claim, then surely Slipper could say that he talked about his job whilst visiting the winery’s that he has been charged over?

The fact that he was unable to access the Minchin  protocol, when Abbott, Brandis, Joyce and many others have been able to pay back much more in their spurious claims than the $900 that Slipper has been charged over, shows a distinct disparity between the “In” crowd of the LNP and the “Out” crowd of the rest?

Now, the other area of concern WRT this issue of LNP Trough snouting is thatAbbott’s imagesmentor and hero, little Johnny Howard, and a number of other ex LNP PM’s have proven to be particularly expensive to maintain, Howard being a standout in this regard, and with his track record for subsidising his income with his expense account, Abbott may well be by far and away the most expensive of all?

And if as is widely predicted/hoped for, he is a one term PM, then he may well turn out to be a one man (?), long term budget emergency of monumental proportions.

And that’s not including the damage that he and his LNP cohorts can do to this country in one term?

So can we have confidence that the rorts will stop under the Abbott administration? Well if past behaviour is a predictor of future behaviour, the answer is a resounding NO!

Can we have confidence that Abbott will in fact stop the waste?   NO!

Can we have any confidence that George Brandis will do anything other than manipulate the AFP and the legal system of this country for the primary benefit of the LNP and its supporters?  NO!

Will Abbott, Brandis and Co stop the LNP trough snouting?

NO… it’s in their DNA!

I’m already thinking about one called “The Late Tony Abbott?” 😀 , as he seems to think that on the world stage, it’s perfectly acceptable to keep world leaders waiting 😉

What an arrogant pig of a PM we have, who is already making us look like an ignorant backwater 😯

Yes he treats us all with contempt, and it makes an absolute mockery of his claim of stopping the waste 😯

Sadly there will be another three years of this if he can’t be forced to a DD 😦

Yes their seems to be a lot more people looking for alternate options for information, and I thought there might be a dropping off of numbers of people blogging after the election… Silly me 😯

Sadly, he’s got his prize now, so he really doesn’t care, as can be seen in the way he said this morning that he will still be claiming expenses for his Pollie pedal “Charity” ride.

This country will be an absolute laughingstock with this piece of crap at the wheel. 😦

Yes, Abbott justified his claims, as he was electioneering in marginal seats. Yes, electioneering from day one of the 2010 government.

    Who should pay for this?

Yes, the problem is that the pennies they are pinching are ours 😯 and it will be interesting to see how many tradies and other workers get audited over spurious claims for work expenses at the end of this current financial year, as the PM, and the AG have set the example, and made it perfectly clear that there is no moral requirement to be fair, decent or honest in their claims for expenses 😯

Maybe for his pollie pedal, he should be made to fill out a log book to work out what percentage of the travel allowance he can actually claim? 🙄

All these claims etc. were kept under wraps so as not to have any effect on the election. Abbott will not be around long. Have been saying that for a couple of years.

This could be their way of getting rid of him. One cannot outsource the job to his chef adviser, Peta Credllin, and expect to last.

I never gave Turnbull much hope of making a comeback, but looking at the noises he is making with NBNCo, I am not so sure.

One explanation for what he is saying, he could be setting up Abbott.

The thing about the LNP is that they go where the money takes them, and the money is still backing Abbott 😯 that may change if he becomes too much of a liability, but I don’t see it happening in the short term, as he is Murdoch’s and Rinehart’s boy.

But there is little if any poyalty in the LNP, as we have witnessed with the Ashbygate/ Slipper affair, so anything is possible I suppose 😉

OK, this is a long-winded way to point out the use of “poyaly” instead of “loyalty” – poyalty is what what the cashed up do to inspire loyalty in others – they pay them. Am expecting this new word to be entered into the Oxford Dictionary with alacrity.

If we never made mistakes much of scientific discovery would be lost, artists would never be inspired and new words would never be invented.

I think we are doing a great injustice to the pig population in Australia and i will be writing a letter of apology to every one of them pleading their forgiveness for comparing them to LNP politicians and i hope they accept my apology.
These trough dwelling vermin are gorging on golden swill provided by tax payers and are arrogantly vomiting it back in our faces and its about time we put them all back into their pens where they can wallow in their own filth and hopefully eat each other.

ps”’ Allow me to quote the last verse of ”Piggies”.

You would think that if you were in Abbott’s high profile as LOTO and doing something for charity you would say something like “Look at me, I’m helping you raise some much needed cash” instead of “Look at me, I’m a miserable arsehole. Pay me for my trouble.”
Now he’s prime monster he’ll probably make travel allowances deductable from any cash raised for charity by government members.

    Thanks, Truth Seeker.
This is something I sent to the ABC today. However, sending comments to the ABC is pretty much a waste of time because their articles are ‘buried’ by the time the comments appear…

This is not a debate about ‘areas of grey’ in relation to entitlements, it is about two standards of justice… Something very important is being overlooked.
Has anybody wondered why Tony Abbott and others have quickly paid back some of their allowance claims? It is because they could be placed in exactly the same legal position as Mr. Slipper if somebody ‘earlier’ makes a complaint to the AFP. This is how they nailed Mr. Slipper and this is why they have suddenly all run for their cheque books. The spotlight has suddenly turned to ‘allowance claims’ and they were tipped off to act quickly. This needs much further investigation.
If somebody at the ABC can understand the significance of this and ask the relevant questions, then recent events will take on an entirely different perspective.

I agree, they are playing a dangerous game, where they have already set the precedent, and don’t wan’t to be judged according to their own standards or lack thereof 😯

The problem is that the ABC doesn’t have any balls, they just have Mark Scott pushing the LNP agenda. 😦

The strange thing is that these issues have been floating around in the fifth estate for a long time, and it’s only now that the MSM have picked up on them, indicating that now that they have got their man (That is Murdoch’s man) in the top job, they are just flexing their muscles to let him know that he belongs to them. 😯

But I think they may have underestimated the level of public outrage going by the drum having to shut down the comments sections of their site 😀

As for the MSM, just now reporting these rorts, my husband thinks they have aided and abetted this bunch of crooks. If nothing else they have colluded to hide the facts during the election. I can’t wait for Albo to get into Parliament and stick it to them. Shorten is trying to be too diplomatic, making the same mistake JG did.
