Born to rule, or born a tool?

Born to rule, or born a tool?

Now that's a tool!

Now that’s a tool!

Not only has the rot set in, but it has started  eating away at the very fabric of our democracy.

It started with the election of a government (and I use the term very loosely), that achieved their win on the back of the biggest propaganda campaign ever waged in this country’s history, based on a platform of lies, spin and slogans, and supported by the most corrupt bunch of media and corporate moguls ever assembled.

Self interest won the day, and the truth is that the poorest and most vulnerable will be the ones that ultimately pay for the excesses of the mega wealthy, along with workers, families and future generations.

Now most of the politically aware, knew that Abbott and his LNP should not be allowed to run a chook raffle.  We know that they are liars,  cheats  and crooks, and we have been talking about their lies, arrogant stupidity and expenses rorts for the last year or more.

title

But who knew that they would realise our greatest fears, before parliament even had a chance to sit   😯

We are now confronted with the prospect of the worst government ever; a government who before the election promised to, in no particular order;

  • Stop the waste; and since the election the LNP have been front and centre in the rorts scandal, proving that when it comes to waste, they are the experts.   😯
  • Stop the boats; and then while they’ve been playing “Hello sailor”, Rudd’s PNG solution appears to have done the job.   🙄
  • Reduce the debt; and the first major economic announcement is to increase the “credit card limit” (to use their own expression) by 67% to half a trillion dollars, and then give the Reserve Bank $8.8 Billion, while canvasing the prospect of introducing more stimulus?…WTF?   😯
  • Improve relations within the region; by insulting and offending most of our neighbours.   😦
  • Repeal the carbon “tax”; even though it’s already working to reduce emissions, and the rest of the world are now following suit, despite their assurances that that will never happen?   😉
  • Still achieve their commitment to a 5% pollution reduction target, by introducing their “Direct action plan”; a plan that is largely unproven, and has been dismissed by all credible experts as certain to cost much more than they have allocated, with little to no chance of it meeting the target. (A target that they have effectively walked away from, by stating that they will not increase the allocation of funds, if it’s required to meet said target)   😯
  •  Repeal the MRRT, at the expense of pensioners, the low paid and small businesses, so that the miners can make mega profits by selling our minerals.   👿
  • Spend billions on a PPL scheme, despite screaming “BUDGET EMERGENCY” for TONY_WINTER_SM__57351.1378638419.1280.1280months.
  • Fix the aforementioned budget emergency by that tried and true fiscal measure commonly known as… Steady as she goes?   WTF?

They have also closed down or merged departments, and sacked experts and started a program of replacing dept heads and senior office holders with their own right wing nut-jobs and sympathisers.

Tony Abbott has also flagged the very real possibility of selling us out to corporate governance via “Free trade agreements” like the TPP.

We have all talked about how the LNP have a born to rule mentality, but with only 51 days gone of (god forbid) a 3 year term, the question that we should be asking about each individual member of Tony Abbott’s LNP cabinet is , are they;

Born to rule, or born a tool?   I would argue for the latter    😯

    Well done Truthy as seeing that the MSM paints such a different picture.
    The continued electioneering mode of non government is bewildering to say the least
    We have entered so much uncharted water with this 2013 election and the previous 5 years of Murdoch attack which started with the stimulus;
    None of which was wanted by the opposition or News Ltd because they wanted the Rudd Labor government gone mid term.
    WE are now in the LA LA American media cycle with SKY/Foxtel/9/7/10 and even the ABC creeping along the Murdoch/LNP byline.
    A similar event happened leading up to the dismissal by mostly the same media players although there is no Packer this time,he`s been replaced by Stokes.
    It took Australia 7 years to get over that one,but employment was higher,unlike now.
    You know I don`t know if people do see the truth about this mob of cretins,they are quietly chewing on the shit sandwiches doled out by the Lieberals and seem so content in viewing and listening to the Jones/Bolt/Smiths that it`s going to get far worse before they wake up from arr argh from arrh day ummhm one we arr will stop errh telling you arrgh arh anything.
    I still can`t find one to admit they voted LNP though,F##king Idiots.

      Yes it’s hard to believe that people can be so gullible, ut as Cornie pointed out there are a lot more marginal seats than before, and it’s only around 30,000 or so that actually handed them government, even though they have a majority of seats. 😯

      I think it’s possible to make him “One term Tony”, but the damage that he/they can do in just one term doesn’t bare thinking about. 👿

    All true.
    I think I have figured out Julie Bishop’s role in all of this. She is to play Shirley Temple, when the government go’s into it’s Good Ship Lollipop routine at the start of parliament. All the major players from big business will be there, with their hands in the candy jar, singing,

    “On the good ship lollipop.

        Third to to last paragraph says it all, however “her” will now be his. The rest is also interesting.

        “So I end where I began – it is not the responsibility of Parliament itself that carries the blame for its standing in the eyes of the people – it is the Prime Minster and the government that must shoulder the blame. It is the Prime Minister that sets the tone. The Prime Minister leads by example. If the Parliament smells rotten the Prime Minister bears responsibility for it – no-one else.           They just don’t see their own hypocrisy, cos they honestly believe that they are incapable of making bad or stupid decisions 😦 or to quote Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull, when he wrote “Thick as a brick”;

        A few friends of mine from the Brisbane College of Music used to mix up some of this at the odd QLD Uni smoko nights,Thurdays[St Lucia] they used to be if you ever went in the sixties.

      The demonization of the Greens will continue by the MSM,LNP and Labor in order to break any future balance of power in the Senate that they may regain.
      Labor left will be kept as a “we`re your Labor party M8” to fool the old faithful into still voting for the NEW RIGHT WING Labor.

      Whatever happens in the short term will defy what the people want because it is now all too clear at LNP and Labor machinations to wrest permanent born to rule status as directed by global corporatists Inc.
      What will PUP do?
      They may end up totally negated by Labor just rolling their right wing ball into the LNP circus tent because Shorten has shown his cellophane qualities as to not only et tu Brutus +2,but as Judas to true Labor.

    ..But the jerk, is blowin’ those damn lies!
    Way on down south,
    Way on down south, in Abbott-town.

    Check out Guitar Boy Tony, he knows all the rorts.
    But it’s strictly spin; he doesn’t want you to know the truth.
    If any dubious excuse is all he can offer,
    When he gets up under the lights to play his thing.
    And Credlin doesn’t mind if she doesn’t make the scene.
    She’s got the real job, she’s doing alright.
    He can play the honky shonk like anything,
    Hiding the truth from the light.
    With the Sultans,
    The Sultans of Spin.

    And a crowd of journos, they’re fooling around in the corner.
    Drunk and dressed with the lattest iPad and heavy duty earmuffs,
    They don’t give a damn about any trumpet playing crook.
    It ain’t what they call a good story.
    And the Sultans,
    Yes, the Sultans like Bling.

    And then the man, he steps right up to the microphone,
    And says at last, just as the time bell rings,
    “Goodnight suckers, now it’s time to go home.”
    But I’ll be back tomorrow to dish another serve for:
    “We’re the Sultans”,
    “We are the Sultans of Spin”.

      Orangefox, Thanks for your comment and kind words 😀

      Mark Knopfler, another great musician/singer/song writer, and The Sultans of Spin fits them to a tee 😀

      Good rewrite 😎

      Cheers 😀
