RIP our Democracy?

With QLD in the grip of Newman’s mania (and I do mean MANIA) , with new fascist laws  implemented by his “Conveyancing Solicitor” lapdog laughingly called the “Attorney  General”, and other LNP states like Victoria, watching closely, is it any wonder that we are very likely to face  unprecedented levels of civil unrest.

imagesThe timing of the introduction of these draconian laws, seems to be more than just a coincidence, as we have just had a change of federal government.

The Jackboot mentality of these governments is truly scary, and should be ringing many alarm bells for the future of our democracy.

First we saw Morrison demonising asylum seekers with inflammatory language, and using the military to engage in the biggest chest beating exercise, since little Johnny Howard, which is somewhat akin to calling for an EPA investigation because someone farted.   😯

Then we had Adolf Newman taking a similar approach to state law, and despite making imagessavage cuts to the state health system, and other services,  spending millions on cracking down on criminal bikie gangs.

Now some may think that this is a good thing, but when you consider that according to police on the gold coast, where this whole thing started, bikie gang crime constitutes less than 2% of the crimes committed, the question is  WHY?

I have it on good authority that Newman displays many symptoms of mental problems, starting with, IMHO, a severe case of “Small Mans Syndrome”, as well as other psychotic behaviours.   😉

The one on the left is definitely THE SMARTER CHOICE!

The one on the left is definitely THE SMARTER CHOICE!

Having said that, if one takes a good hard look (or for that matter a cursory glance) at the bulk of this current crop of LNP members, one would have to conclude that to call them “Right Wing Nut-Jobs” , is a fairly apt description, and that “Nut-Jobbery” is in their DNA.   😯

But again, I digress   😯   .

The fact is that these ill considered and badly thought through laws, are going to have an impact on the freedoms we hold dear, and that many fought for, as in the case of the Vietnam Veteran, who labelled Newman “Adolf” at an interview, whilst explaining that his bike club has been harassed by police, and told that they should give the police notice when going for a ride… WTF?

He went on to explain that they would not be giving up the freedoms that they fought for, when putting their lives on the line for their/our country.

One of the great Ironies, IMHO, is that for a long time I’ve been saying that my own

VladTepes1485

VladTepes (The Impaler) 1485 (Photo credit: Wikipedia)

electorate of Fisher would vote for “Vlad the Impaler”, if he was endorsed by the LNP, and now we have literally got VLAD endorsed by the LNP.   WTF?   😯

So what is VLAD?

VLAD is an acronym for; Vicious Lawless Association Disestablishment Act (“the VLAD Act”).   An act that, even though we are told was enacted to deal with “Bikie violence”, makes no mention of bikies in the wording of the act.   👿

The reality is that this “VLAD” act, is every bit as evil as the orignal Vlad the impaler, stripping away the basic human rights of;

  • Personal freedom
  • Freedom of speech
  • Freedom of association, that entrenches in law the notion of guilt by association, with mandatory gaol sentences of 15 – 25 years, so that the onus of proof is then on the individual, to prove that they are NOT a member of a criminal gang/club/group/association.

These are just the more obvious issues for anyone who associates with two or more friends, and the questions that we should all be asking ourselves is:

  1. In Australia, do we, as individuals, value our freedoms, as part of a strong democracy?
  2. Do we trust the likes of Newman and the LNP to be honest? Fair? Transparent in executing these draconian laws, when they have already treated us like fools by introducing them in the first place?
  3. As Australians, should we be prepared to fight to protect our freedoms, as our veterans were?
  4. Or are we so apathetic that we are prepared to stick our heads in the sand and whistle Dixie, while would be dictators (read Dickheads) play their self serving, political games at the expense of our basic freedoms?
  5. Are we prepared to say “RIP our Democracy?

This is deja vu if the Jackboot Joh era.
Government that totally overblows an issue [today bikers] yesteryear [Anti Vietnam protesters and anti apartheid protest] does so only to take away from real social issues affecting the populace.
This flows through to Federal Government secret squirrelling now that the Mad Monk has the keys to the Priory.
    RWNJ policies globally are
    1-Racist and xenophobic
    2-Totalitarian and suppressive
    3-Secretive and oppressive
4-Creating police States and creating unjust laws
The right wing politicians have no social skills and rely on the base unintelligence of supporters to keep them in power-point 1.
Adding to this by assuming a false flag enemy, methods of public policy are suppressed as to their true nature-point 2
The secretive nature of how people can have their freedoms stripped from them comes with the heavy handed push of turning the State from a Social one into a Police State-3
Once this police State is created even journo`s fall under the creation in points 2-3.
In a normal circumstance this would be very worrying, but these journo`s and society have been subject to inhumane treatment by the perpetrater of all these crimes against
    Rupert Wormtongue Murdoch.
If the corporate MSM was forced to break up their monopolies the world would be far better off.
Labor had the chance to do this and never followed through.
We have anti-monopoly laws here so WTF
It`s this CUNT who`s fucking up our SOCIETY

Well said, Truthy. 🙂 It truly is the Joh era all over again. What must Newman’s mother Jocelyn think of him as I believe she was one of the more moderate Liberal MPs.

When I see pics of cocky, smug Newman, looking all puffed up & full of himself, he reminds me of Mussolini, another small, puffed up, full of his own self-importance, dictator. As the dangerous buffoon Abbott is just a puppet manipulated by Credlin/Loughnane it is evil Murdoch who is Hitler calling all the shots & issuing orders.

Trouble is this insanity has leaked across the border into NSW as the NSW police, at the behest of the O’Farrell government, were at the Tweed Bypass the other day, stopping anyone suspected of being in a bikie gang & preventing them from entering the hallowed turf of NSW. Kind of like during the end days of the Joh dictatorship when he had the brainstorm of all brainstorm that any female of child-bearing years should have to undergo pregnancy testing to prove she wasn’t pregnant before leaving Qld, especially entering NSW!!!!!!!! Think this made the citizenry realise Joh was really off his rocker. Don’t think the present lot are the full quid either. 😆

The attack on bikies was the thin edge of the wedge.
These LNP governments are bloody good at that.
They are smart enough to start with groups i.e Bikies, as they know the bulk of the unthinking public wouldn’t give a toss about them and legislation only meets with limited opposition,
NSW likes to talk of “middle eastern gangs” and the bikies as well.
Victoria has just massively increased fines for duck hunt protesters,
Soon it will be CSG protesters.
    And then……….fill in any group.
The thin edge has been accomplished , now watch this space.

Trouble is, bikies are ‘on the nose’ with many narrow people, just as Peter Slipper was federally (made worse in their eyes, because of the homosexual connection), so they aren’t supportive of seeing justice done – which is just what the Newman government counts on. Play to the prejudiced, the intolerant, the redneck element in our society, to get their votes. Straight out of Tony Abbott’s handbook…

What is about conservative governments/people that they bang on and on about individual liberty and freedom of choice and then prove to be the complete opposite as the most controlling bunch of DICKS (my preferred word, only women can be cunts but anyone can be a DICK – if you don’t mind, Biggy).

My theory on the Great Bikie Sleight of Hand is to create a diversion from the slew of mining approvals being handed out like choccies (or should that be pick-axes?) to anyone with connections to the MCA.

    http://www.theglobalmail.org/feature/the-abbott-election-legend-robin-hood-in-reverse/695/

“The point is, the conservative parties have big financial reasons to look after the miners. And the miners are making a handsome return on their investment. They put $3.7 million in and got $3.7 billion out.

And that’s just their take from the mining tax abolition; there’s more in than that in it for them. Much more.

For an Abbott government will also, it promises, remove the carbon tax. Sweaty Joe’s document estimated the foregone revenue from that decision at $13.5 billion. After offsetting savings – the removal of compensation measures to business, the energy market and other areas – the net drain on the budget would be about $6 billion.

And who benefits from the abolition of measures to cut carbon emissions? Those who make a lot of carbon emissions. Coal miners most obviously, but also anyone else who uses a lot of energy. Mining uses a lot of energy.”

I think you’re right, but it’s interesting that he has also started with the privatisation process for gaols, as well as said he wants to build a bikies prison, so the question needs to be asked how much will WE be paying for the privilege of having these private security companies looking after our gaols? And why?

OK, Biggie – I do get you. And I don’t want to pick a fight. I am just sick of the feminine being used as an example of inferiority or weakness and don’t give a flying fart if I upset someone for pointing this out.

Its just this entire “wearing of pink” thing being somehow demeaning for men – now, I don’t expect a dolt like Newman to get it, but do object to the use of the perception of feminine as insult by people who should know better.

I feel more entitled to refer to someone as a ‘cunt’ than you. Like blacks can use the word ‘nigger’ or gays the word ‘faggot’.

For example, I was at the footy a few years ago and a woman near me was shouting at Riewoldt for “kicking like a girl”, I glanced at her and shouted “Riewoldt, you’re kicking like an old man” – this resulted in a bit of a face off between yours truly and this woman, which I won being in the morally superior position and all that.

ATM ‘dick’ is universally in use by all people, this may change as being perceived as sexist in the future. I don’t know. Here’s the deal I won’t use the word ‘dick’ if you can refrain from calling Newman a cunt.

Especially when the real cunt in the LNP is Peta Credlin.

Not so long ago, I would’ve just let such school yard BS go. Such lack of action is why we still have to tolerate nonsense like grown men thinking they can call other grown men, cunts – hilarious, down at the local with a bunch of boozy blokes, not so much for a public forum.

Free speech may be considered a right, but as the old saying goes with “great power (free speech) comes great responsibility” a truism that is as much worth fighting for as the right to a democracy. Which is why most of us are here – irrespective of gender *.

If anyone on these pages has a young daughter, niece, granddaughter or sister, we’re not just fighting for a future liveable environment, we are fighting for her to be able to walk with pride and confidence and the good sense, if her surname is Hunt, not to name any of her children Mike or York 😉

                *
On use of the word ‘gender’ this has replaced the word ‘sex’ mainly because people are so fucking caught up with the implications of SEX, that we cop out by saying ‘gender’ instead.

What does concern me is that the McGrath Foundation has built up such a successful awareness/fund-raising campaign for breast cancer, by the wearing of pink, with our male sportspeople proudly getting on board with enthusiasm, I consider Newman’s plans belittles this cause.

I agree the entire ‘pink’ issue is petty and narrow minded. I am happy to be reminded of the “Pink” campaign for cancer sufferers – does make Newman look a nasty little fool.

My reasons for my preceding posts were intended to point out just where such denigration leads – Newman is an idiot, but calling men him a ‘cunt’ does nothing for women and exacerbates the attitude of women as less worthy than men. Even if we do share the same political ideology, that doesn’t mean I will stand by and watch when I have a young niece who expects to be treated with respect (as should any young girl when she enters adulthood) and not demeaned third hand because a few men still think the best way to insult someone is to use feminine based derogatory expressions.

Heard O’Farrell say this morning, the girl shoit in the back has the right to be safe in her own home.

    Yes, indeed she does.

The fact is, that children are not safe in their own homes. Many crimes are committed against them, in the secrecy of those same homes. What I am talking about, is sexual abuse by family, extended family and friends. Yes, and many children suffer from domestic violence.

Demonising groups such as bikies, is not going to ensure their safety.

It appears that the police have imprisoned, many of the bikies that are committing crimes. Can one please tell me, how appearing on TV, demonising the girl’s parents for not giving information, is going to help this girl.
