Abbott PM… I still feel violated.

I knew that it would be difficult to accept an LNP government, and more so Abbott as PM, who’s approach to government “for all” seems to based  on the old kids rhyme “We’re the kings of the castle and you’re the dirty rascal”   😛    Don’t you just love “adult (A dolt)” government   🙄

But after a relatively Abbott free Christmas and new year, I still found myself feeling embarrassed, offended and yes… violated, by his appearance when he delivered his “New year speech”.   😯

I’m afraid that the speech was irrelevant, not so much because of what he said, but because of who was giving it.   😦

Now you may say that that’s a bit unfair (though I doubt most here would), but you see, when Abbott fronts a presser, the one thing that we know for sure, is that he deliberately misleads and LIES!

With that in mind, everything that he says is coloured by that knowledge, so if he said something like… “We will provide $10 million for disaster relief”, all I can think is, ‘So where are the $40 million in hidden cuts coming from so that you can look like you really give a damn?’…  Oh cynical me.   😯

The problem, I realised, is that I see the LNP… government (gag) as totally illegitimate, as they gained the win by deception; by subverting our democracy for the sake of “the end justifies the means”, or “whatever it takes”.   👿

Further, I cannot respect a government or PM, or the decisions that they make, when they are so inherently dishonest and so blatantly self serving.

So I do feel offended that, for lying to the electorate, talking down the economy, selling out our democracy etc   etc, he was rewarded with the job that he wanted, not for any altruistic agenda, or the good of the country, but purely for the fulfilment of his own political ambitions.

And I also feel sad and embarrassed that so many Aussies were deceived, and in just three months the man that deceived us has trashed our international reputation and made us a laughingstock on;

• Climate change, taking us from a world leader to a third world backwater.
• Asylum Seeker policy.
• Foreign affairs.
• Economics.

To name just a few examples.

And now, as we face a new year, and the first full year of fascist rule from a truly cringe worthy bunch of unrepresentative swill (That is; unrepresentative of Australia, and  our culture of a fair go for all etc, but well representative of international interests and corporations   😯   ), that will sell us out to the highest bidder.

This mob definitely do NOT represent me or my view of our country and what it needs, to be a first world country in the 21st century, and I would venture to suggest that many others feel the same.

I do not use the word “Violated” lightly, and after the initial shock of the realisation that we now have Abbott, allegedly, running the joint, and the consequent fear for our nation and its future, I thought that the outrage and sense of violation would subside, and be replaced by a dogged determination to fix it.

Well I have to say that the dogged determination did arrive, and has been reinforced almost daily by the ineptitude of this LNP mob,  but the longer they continues on their merry, corporate and dysfunctional way,  the more embarrassed, frustrated and angry I get, and the more I can say that morally, emotionally and culturally, Mr Abbott PM… I still feel violated!
