The adults are in-charge?

Tony, your breath smells like Rupert’s bum… I told you not to inhale!

I don’t know about you, but for me there are certain right wing slogans that really irritate.

One that I find particularly annoying is “Crystal Clear”, but the one that I find most offensive is “The Adults are in-charge”, the implication being that what came before was nothing but childish stupidity, and they will be so much better…   😯

So I thought that it would be a fitting foundation, upon which to build the first poem of the year, and this is it.

The Adults are in charge?

 

When Abbott made the statement that

“The Adults are in charge”

It was another meaningless slogan

Like ‘Small boats… and ocean large’

Or ‘When it comes to funding Gonski

We say confidently… Snap!’

But Abbott’s promise, like his belief

In Climate change… “Is crap!”

😉

And when referring to “The Adults”

Abbott couldn’t mean the speaker

Cos Bronny’s in her second childhood

Like a twelve year old truth tweaker

Changing the rules to suit herself

Whilst wearing helmet hair

And bringing into disrepute

The honoured, speakers chair

😦

And “Adult” Chrissy? … Surely not?

He can’t mean Chrissy Pyne

Who needs to answer… “do you want cheese

And crackers, with that…whine?”

He’s like the little spoilt kid

Who runs to tell his mummy

And when he doesn’t get his way

He’ll spit a mega dummy

😡

And Scott “Hello Sailor” Morrison?

The Abbott must be joking?

He’s like the local naughty boy

Who annoys, with constant poking

And hides the truth, and just won’t tell

And shows his lack of class

And he’s not the “Adult” promised

In fact he’s not an adults Arse

😯

Julie Bishop’s not an “adult”

She’s a very naughty girl

Who, although her death stares never work

She’ll still give them a whirl

With her prepubescent attitude

Of selfishness and spite

She’s like the “Girls school” bully

Always spoiling for a fight

🙄

And Sloppy Joe’s another one

Who’s adult cred is shot

He screamed blue murder about the debt

Then he added, his own lot

On top of what’s already owed

And he didn’t bat an eyelid

Instead he blamed the ALP

Like the bully blames the shy kid

😉

On climate change you’ve got Greg Hunt

An adult?… Not a hope

He treats us all like idiots

But he’s the raving dope

Who’s lost in his portfolio

He hasn’t got a clue

Just adds to global warming

By speaking heaps of cattle poo

😀

And Turnbull’s not an adults bum

Cos he doesn’t have the guts

To stand up for his principles

Against the right wing nuts

But he’ll do the right thing for himself

To make his mega bucks

As he sells us down the river

For an NBN that sucks

😯

And Banaby’s a classic

He’s a kiddie through and through

With his little pearls of wisdom

Worth as much as doggie do

But for him it doesn’t matter

That he never makes much sense

Cos he’s owned by Gina Rinehart

And he’s sitting on her fence

🙄

So where are all the “adults”

That you promised from the start?

Or was that just an another lie?

Another great brain fart?

And the crew you chose wouldn’t grow up

If you sent them all to classes

Cos they’re spoilt little rich kids

And members of… the Ruling… Arses
