I’ll see your GFC, and raise you a homegrown recession!

I’ll see your GFC , and raise you a homegrown recession!

I smell smoke

I smell smoke

For the benefit of this post, I was going to rename Abbott… Nero, but the truth is that whereas Nero fiddled while Rome burned; while parts of Victoria and South Australia burned, our illustrious (and I use the term loosely) leader wasn’t playing “the fiddle”, although some would argue strongly that he’s always “on the fiddle”, instead he was MIA.   😯

Now I’m sure that it was very nice, skiing in France, while areas across the country were suffering the devastation of heat-waves and severe bushfire conditions.   But for someone who lied, cheated and practiced “Whatever it takes” to get the top job, and who appears to have spent more time on holidays, since taking up his new position, than he has actually working, one would think that he would at least put in an appearance for the sake of showing those suffering citizenry, that their PM cares… Or maybe not?   😉

And while Abbott was off the radar (pardon the pun);

  1. The navy’s sat-navs crapped themselves, which is the only viable explanation,
Perform a "U" turn… when safe to do so!

Perform a “U” turn… when safe to do so!

otherwise that annoying little voice would  have been echoing around the bridges, of our warships, saying “Perform a “U” turn… When safe to do so.”, instead of sending our warships into Indonesian waters, and violating their sovereignty.  And all that despite Morrison’s assurances that it could never happen … WTF?

  2. Our relationships in the region continued to deteriorate, with the warning that Rudd
    Medusa Bishop

    Medusa Bishop

gave, now ringing in our ears, despite the ridicule to which he was subjected by Julie “Medusa” Bishop, our new alleged FM.  Remembering that she brought into question his mental health, after he claimed that the LNP policies (?) could damage our relations and cause heightened tensions and possible conflict.  And now we have seen our relationship damaged, heighten tensions and an ex indonesian military commander stating that their turn-backs policy could end up causing a naval confrontation, one has to wonder, ‘who’s mental health should be questioned Ms Bishop?’

  3. We have allegations persisting, of Australian personnel being involved in the bad treatment of asylum seekers, which looks even worse in the context of the lack of transparency displayed by this mob.

And that’s just some of the issues that need attention by a PM, apart from the aforementioned support for disaster victims, but when Abbott did finally surface, it was by way of a prerecorded message about why he was going  to the Davos economic forum, in Switzerland.

Aside from the obvious questions  that we would all like answered, the question in my mind is WTF can Abbott tell anyone about running an economy (Except how to run it into the ground   😯   ) when he;

  • Opposed every measure that kept us from the GFC.
  • Spent years talking down an economy that was the envy of the world.
  • Has done everything he can to destroy the legacy of  a government who was recognised around the world as great fiscal managers.
  • Increased the debt and deficit, despite his alarmist rhetoric about the government credit card and escalating debt.Abbott1+

The chances are that as Abbott addresses the forum, and later gives his G20, chair address, he will be seen for the rank amateur that he is, with many shaking their heads in utter disbelief at the fact that a progressive country like Australia, with everything going for it, should hand the reins to the “Blunder from Down-under”, and his sad bunch of political and economic incompetents and misfits.

Now I’ve made my feelings known about what I think of Abbott and the illegitimacy of his LNP Mob   😯    (I struggle to call them a government).   I also struggle to show any respect to Abbott or his honourable (Gag… vomit… gag     ) MP’s, as they are definitely not “Honourable” and have not yet done anything to earn respect… in fact, to the contrary, they have done everything to lose the respect of decent, honest people.

And now the Abbott’s strutting the world stage, supposedly representing us.   😦    stating that Australia is “under new management”, and “Open for business”.     W…T…F…?

The thing that Abbott doesn’t understand, is that the world at large thought, contrary to what the LNP would have us believe, that the Rudd/Gillard governments were doing a bloody good job, and we didn’t need “New management”, and what’s more, they were never under any delusion that Australia was anything but… “Open for business!”Abbott6

He also forgets that many of the economic leaders and experts that he’ll be addressing are associated with the IMF, who recently released a report saying that Howard’s government, the one that Abbott was a minister in, was the most profligate in 200 years.

They would also be aware of the great record of, and the many accolades given to, the previous government for their economic management.

So Tony, you already made an arse of yourself with the Washington Post gaffe, and the numerous diplomatic stuff ups, and now, the only thing that you can say to the worlds economic leaders and the G20 with any credibility at all is;

I’ll see your GFC, and raise you a homegrown recession!

Hey well done Truthy, nice descriptives, excellent punctuation and well formed sentences and paragraphs.
It`s just a pity you had to use all those skills on this lot of fly blown tripe that supposedly govern us.
Abbott will be the laughing stock of Switzerland and the imbecile will think they believe he is a funny person and he`ll laugh along with them.
He`ll be too much of a knob to realise the jokes on him.
I remember your article “Who`d a Thunk It” and I think back to that and realise that no one could have seen this shemozzle growing so exponentially into a “Stooges Marathon” starring
Moe Abbott,Curly Morrison and Larry Pyne supported by the Harridans Medusa Bishop and Helmet Hair and a cast tens of thousands who voted for these lunatics,ARE YOU NOT ASHAMED?

Kate I have been hoping the same thing, trouble is with Abbott even if he was caught to the degree of being chucked out by the GG, Abbott would scream bias because the GG is Shortens mother in law & just refuse to go.

Hi Truthie, thanks for the good writing once again. I saw this morning the invisable man was asked by the foreign press his views on the Syrian conflict and he gave them his ” baddies versus baddies”’ 3 word slogan,i mean the man is a complete fucking moron and a huge embarrasment to us all. If i ever have to go overseas i am going to tell people im a Kiwi, there is no way i want to be associated with the Australian version of the Third Reich. I read on IA that the backroom heavies are keen to get rid of the Invisable Man and most of his front bench,it will be an interesting 2014.

I guess we should all settle in for a rocky couple of years.
If that can create this much havoc in 4 months, what the hell can they do in 3 or 6 years ?
Good to see that there would be “no surprises” as grub Abbott often spouted.
The LNP are really doing their bit for “welfare”
Welfare of the Miners, Corporations, Farmers, Oil, the Tax Dodgers etc,
all at the expense of the poor sick and disabled.
    Really heroic bunch of bastards.
But they play the game well,
Come Anzac Day , Abbott will be wrapped in a flag, spouting, “true Aussie spirit” and “spirit of the Anzacs”.
I think if half the old diggers could come back, they’d shoot thee treasonous bastards for what they are doing to our country, its way of life and its spirit of a fair go.

Has IA changed the comments facility?
After they went to the new web display I was disappointed with both the layout and that it would not display properly on a mobile phone. Also comments were no longer visable and leaving a comment was through a third party which seemed to indicate they no longer cared about their readers.
Hence the reason I stopped commenting on their site.
What do you think about the layout especially on mobile devices?

    • Truth Seeker says:

Orangefox, I know many here are still not really comfortable with their new layout, and I have to say that I preferred it before too 😦

I can’t say what it’s like on mobile devices, as I only ever see it on my laptop, but I know that with mobile devices, a huge part of market, a site really needs to be cross-format.

Maybe they still have some fine tuning to do?

In general terms, I am getting used to it, but feel that it could be a bit more user friendly. 😉

    Truthie,
Glad that I’m not the only one questioning the layout. Regarding the mobile phone layout the problem is that it is a seriously cut down experience. Before one could view the IA webpage layout exactly like on a desktop and use zoom functions to enlarge what one wanted to read. Now on mobile one gets presented with some crappy very basic looking layout no better than a blog. IA has control of how the page appears on a mobile device and there appears to be no facility to switch to desktop view. Also I was used to navigating around the old site. It really frustrates me these changes that web providers do. Yahoo is another that keeps fiddling with the look and function.
I will email IA and see what they say.
At least on your site I know what to expect; Utter contempt for a pack of lieing, scheming, theiving, hippocritical, incompetent, jack arsed, bastards.

Just went behind the scene at the Australian. Yes, every comment, accusing the ABC of creating all Abbott’s problems. It appears that the ABC should ignore all news that threatens Tony. Yes, should not have reported those burns. Heard others say, unless the journalist, cannot confirm, should not print. Is not asking questions of the government, a way of confirming allegations?

Shorten out early this day. Shadow cabinet meets today.

One needs to remember, not all in the navy are, as pure as driven snow. Look at their history over the last few years. Look what happened in Afghan. There are always mavricks in any organization.

Not saying there is, in this occasion, but the answer is, that all allegations need to be investigated, with an open mind to the outcome.

There are as many, if not red necks to be found in any armed forces., It comes with the nature of the job,.

The real question that needs to be addressed, is the political use of the Defense Forces. The navy should not be in their position they find themselves.
