This poem was written as a response to the blatant and ongoing disregard for our democracy, by the evil Murdoch, and the mendacious, and some would say corrupt, LNP. 😯
They certainly corrupted our democracy with their lies spin, and propaganda campaign, restricting the information that the citizenry received, to only their side of the debate, consequently denying the voters the ability to make an informed choice.
And as far as I’m concerned, that makes this rabble they call a government, completely illegitimate! 😛
The Australian Democracy.
Australian Democracy.
Australian democracy
Is just a bloody joke
It’s been terribly subverted, by
That bloody Murdoch bloke
He left this great Australia
For that corporate US joint
Yet he thinks he has the right to dictate
Who we should appoint.
😯
So he chose for us the Abbott man,
And started on the sell
To convince us that we should employ
The government from hell
And not for any altruistic
Care for this great nation
But because we allow such moguls
To extend beyond their station
😦
So he sauntered in to take control
And exercise his power
By directing his man Tony,
From the Murdoch ivory tower
He’s quite the megalomaniac,
A dictator through and through
And he’ll happily pocket billions
While he dumps us in the poo
👿
And the rise of right wing nut-jobs,
To the heads of government
Is a sad indictment on a country
Who’s leaders are low rent
Like Napthine in Victoria
Who’s trying to survive
By bailing out the Abbott
While his state takes a nose dive
😉
Barry OFarrell in NSW
Is another right wing Knob
Who lied, and broke his promises,
Once he had got the job
There’s Newman here in QLD,
Who makes out that he’s just great
By turning our democracy,
Into a fascist state
😯
His anti-association laws are
Nothing short of sick
And though he acts like a dictator
He’s just a rabid little dick
And with elections in the offing
For the South Australian state
As well as little Tassie,
Which might face a Liberal fate
👿
Of selling off the family farm
And mass privatisation
Through lies and spin and propaganda
They’ll sell the bloody nation
Of massive cuts to services,
And job losses as well
As they introduce their version of
The Abbott’s right wing hell
😥
And with Murdoch right behind them,
They’re empowered to be bad
With their economic trickle down
A system that’s just mad
While they claim that our democracy
Is strong and so robust
The truth is that these idiots
Are grinding it to dust
😯
So let’s lift our voices long and loud
To tear the Murdoch down
And we really need to do the same
To Abbott… Murdoch’s clown
Then we can start reclaiming
Our once proud identity
And reintroduce Australia
To its lost democracy
😀
YUP that`s that mob on TV I see
Those one`s who care not for you or me
Yet all the TV commentators cheer them and gleefully say
Everything is Labor`s fault a we`re in a budget emergency by the way
We`ll all help Tony Abbott and parrot what he has to say
Because we don`t care for our country we only want our pay.
Truthy you have done so well
In creating a vision of Abbott`s corporate hell
But have you thought going to the top and all the way?
In mailing this to Archbishop Big George Pell to see what he has to say?
Maybe he could intervene and ask the Murdoch to repent and come clean
He could now say Rupert fear God you do?
Then the Murdoch would answer NO but fear me I say to you
Because all your dirty little secrets I have hacked
So Australia is totally mine with this government that I backed.

Well that is a great poem truthie and we may have to start replying in verse like bighead.
I had to laugh that Channel 7 got raided and the manager complained to his friend Turnbull. These politicians have friends at 7 and that is why their news is biased and reports are one sided.
If you haven’t seen this three minute video of a dog with table manners you must watch.

Orangefox, thanks for that 😀
Yes, it looks to me like Abbott has some plan to find something to give the Indonesians, to help with the broken relationship?
Thanks for the link, I’ll try to get to it later 😉

Believe me we should feel afraid
Of the fuck ups Abbott has made
If we don’t make him quit
He’ll bury us in shit
With his evil P.M. masquerade

Each time I see the stupid PM
I can’t help but wonder just when
And where we went wrong
In electing this nong
And his band of misogynist men.
Each time I see Abbott I curse
And start in to writing crude verse
For can’t help being rude
About that rotten dude
And his zoo who daily get worse.

Another fine piece of prose, what are your thoughts on one on our very own Sovereign Borders muppet on the lines of “a model major general” aka G&S. And Teflon would be no better than our tones both spineless.

Hey Bilko, thanks for that 😀
mate I used to enjoy a bit of G & S when I was a kid… good fun 😀
And they would have to take at least some credit for my love of verse 😯
It would probably work well, but IMHO it would be a shame to defile such a classic, with the likes of Abbott 😉
Cheers 😀

Truthy I posted these thoughts on I.A. today, thought I`d post it here as well.
I’ll defy anyone who is a member/supporter of any political party to say they agree 100% with EVERYTHING that party stands for. Therefore it is natural, that in the main, for better or for worse, the party of their choice will not be perfect.
Having said that, in the current climate re asylum seekers, one must ask oneself does my party support the PNG Solution. In this case BOTH major parties do. So the next question is, do I support how the refugees are being treated? If the answer is NO, it is obvious that those with the power to change it, in this case the government, are the ones to direct ones disgust at their inactions and apparent support of what is happening to the refugees.
I don’t see the point in attacking the party one supports who in this case are in opposition and can only make noises. By all means, rip into your party for their perceived inactions in not being proactive enough by highlighting the discrepancies of the other side. But don’t throw the baby out with the bath water. I’m guilty of attacking the party I support re it’s factions and the leader it currently has, but to wipe them and vote for the other lot I’d never do. What Abbott and his mob stand for doesn’t come remotely close to what I believe is right for this country first of all, and right for me second.

Consider, thanks for sharing your thoughts here as well 😎 and well said. 😀
Rightly or wrongly we have a two party system, and although the party might need fixing, and brought kicking and screaming back to its core values, that’s what needs to be done for the sake of the country. 😯
Cheers 😀

Indeed we do – at least with one party there is a possibility of humanity – which is why I will do my best to remind them of that.
