Hockey’s Fudge-it Budget… Or, how to screw a nation!

Hockey’s Fudge-it Budget… Or how to screw a nation!

Evolving from DICKHEAD TO DICTATOR, in record time!

Evolving from DICKHEAD TO DICTATOR, in record time!

I have decided that I will leave the tally of lies, backflips and broken promises to others, as I think we are now at the stage, where it’s no longer a matter of what promises Abbott made, cos to use one of Abbott’s own phrases, it should now be perfectly “Crystal clear” to anyone, with a brain, that Abbott will lie about anything, to try to con the people into giving him what he wants.

And even when confronted with irrefutable evidence of his dishonesty, he just denies everything and blames Labor, like he did last Wednesday morning in an interview on ABC radio, where he was asked about his broken promises and lies, and his response was:

“Let’s never forget that Labor turned lying into an art-form.”… W…T…F?

The very fact that he can even make such a claim, shows there is no truth in him, and that he is not only a delusional RWNJ and a fascist, but also a pathological liar and sociopath!

Sadly, as usual his assertion went unchallenged, when IMHO the reply should have been something like;

“Well if Labor made lying an art form, you and the LNP have turned it into a way of life!”    😯

Which brings us to Hockey’s “fudge-it”, or at least a couple of key elements of it.

Firstly, let’s have a look at what he is trying to do to pensioners, the chronically ill, the disabled and the poor, through his proposed changes to Medicare.

Despite very specific promises from Abbott, prior to the election on “NO cuts to Medicare” as well as “NO new Taxes” , he has done the exact opposite.

I’m sure that Abbott and Hockey thought that halving the “Co-payment”, from the original recommendation, would mean that the plebes would be just so grateful,   😉    and after all, $7.00 is only the price of your common or garden takeaway latte, or a sandwich, or a couple of beers, or you can go three times for the price of a packet of smokes… Bargain?   😯

Now I hate to be the one to break the bad news, but for starters, smokers only constitute around 20% of people across all demographics, with the young claiming a fair representation, thereby showing that there’s only a relatively small percentage of pensioners that actually smoke.

Homeless 2There’s also the small, but important point that the vast majority of people who rely entirely on the pension, for their income, are surviving at pretty much subsistent levels, which means they rarely if ever go out for a Latte, or anything else, and that $7.00 sandwich is probably their main, and often their only, meal for the day.

I also know for a fact that the day after Hockey’s Fudge-it was brought down, medical receptionists received calls from worried people asking to cancel their doctors appointments, as they could not afford the $7.00.

Like all bully boys, they are cowards who delight in picking on the weak and the vulnerable, as was demonstrated in Hockey’s fudge-it,  which has left many elderly and sick people, scared and very insecure about their futures.

So we had weeks of budget speculation, which was tantamount to torture to many pensioners, only to then dump the fudge-it on them and realise their greatest fears.   Then they are told that not only are they expected to contribute $2.00, to a pay rise for doctors out of the meagre pittance they try to live on, but they will also be contributing  $5.00 to the worlds biggest medical research trust fund… WTF?

So while the subsistence pensioners huddle around the warmth of their last candle, eating their $7.00 sandwich dinner — the second dinner in three days — They can rest assured, as they slowly fade away,  that their sacrifice has not been in vain, as future generations of Big Pharma execs and shareholders will get their rightly deserved dividends…   😉

Now there’s much more to worry about with Abbott’s broken promises on Medicare, and general cuts to health, than just the Co-payment, but that one measure amongst many bad measures has already caused much angst, and the question that has yet to be asked of Abbott and Hockey is;

“Will you both accept responsibility for the lives lost, as a direct result of this policy? Cos if it gets through, make no mistake… There WILL be lives lost!

Then we come to petrol excise indexation, and  the question that springs to mind is;

“Are you completely STUPID?”

But then I realised that this is Abbott and the LNP, so that question has to be rhetorical? 😀

I mean really,  why would you put up the price of a commodity like fuel, which is one of the single most inflationary triggers that a government can pull, as its price affects pretty much everything we buy and do?

And the only reason that I can think of, is so that they can resurrect the old slogan that “Interest rates are always lower under a coalition government!”, (which they’ve gone strangely silent on since rates hit record lows) as they force the RBA to adjust fiscal policy to accommodate their destructive, American Tea Party style, ideologically driven, economic, and for that matter social agenda.   👿smoking1

But I have to say that, to me, one of the most disturbing and  offensive aspects of the Fudge-it, according to “Smokin'” Joe is that he claims that his Fudge-it is promoting the “Values” of the modern Australia!   WTF?

These are NOT even close to my values, nor the values of anyone that I associate with, and so Sloppy Smokin’ Joe, at this point we should look to the LNP lexicon once more to see just what you’re talking about;

Now the problem that Hockey, Abbott and the rest of the LNP have, when talking Values, is that they relate value to the financial, as opposed to the Moral.   😯

So with that in mind, let’s look at what they are really saying.

Values =

  1. The monetary value of Australian assets for sale to mates.
  2. The value of moving from a democratic to a fascist state, for their donors.
  3. The Value of Murdoch’s support.

Modern Australia = 50 years behind the rest of the world!

A Fair Go = more than “Fair” for the rich, and much less than fair, for the rest.   😯

And the rest is covered under their The LNP’s unspoken creed which I have mentioned before, but it’s worth repeating:

“Every man, woman and child for themselves… unless you’re rich, then we’ll support you all we can!

So we now wait with baited breath, to see what will be passed, and what will be passed in, and whether Abbott will, in a rare moment of honesty, stick to his threat to call a DD, or show once again what a gutless, lying piece of doggy do he really is!

Now it’s up to the opposition party’s and independents, to tell the Abominable Abbott and Hateful Hockey to take “Hockey’s fudge-it budget… Or how to screw a nation!” and SHOVE IT!

Block supply NOW!

King for a day, but a DICKHEAD forever!

Hi, Truthie. Love your passion! Just listening to AM – It seems that the first hit to the states will occur from July 1st with the axing of money to the states for pensioners’ and seniors’ subsidies. I’m wondering how much of the axing has actually been left out of the official Budget.
Also wondering how many years the Federal Government has been funding health and education. As far as I can recall, it has always been the case, at least in my adult years. As I have always understood it, Canberra has always collected the money for distribution to the states, whose job it is to administer the funds. Isn’t this what taxpayers think they’re paying taxes for? Isn’t this always what they thought? Can anyone help me with this? Perhaps Cornie has the history at his fingertips.
And as for the Medical Research Fund, which MIGHT find a cure for cancer, how can we afford the most expensive research fund in the world when we have a ‘Budget Emergency’? And that $12 billion worth of airplanes? And the Paid Parental Leave Scheme? And $9 billion that the Reserve Bank never asked for? Grr!
On the other hand, it’s exciting to see the groundswell of anger and opposition, especially from the LNP states.

    • Truth Seeker says:

Morning Kate 🙂 and thanks for your comment 😎

Yes and there’s the small details like they want to penalise Doctors who don’t charge patients the co payment, with an $11.00 fine. 👿

Hopefully the groundswell will become a tsunami! 😀

      Cheers 😀

  2. bighead1883 says:

Block Supply Now is the growing mantra Truthy 🙂 and it was prevalent at yesterday`s March in May.
You have covered my feelings as to this debacle we have as a Government 👿 so good job M8 🙂 .

    • Truth Seeker says:

      Biggy, thanks mate 😀

Yes mate, the slogans are hotting up 😉 I particularly liked “The Lying King” 😀

But “Block supply NOW!” pretty much reflects the general sentiment 😉

      Cheers 😀

  3. consider says:

Spot on comments as usual Truthy,
At last the ALP are using the correct word, ” LIE ” when referring to Abbotts “promises”.
I don`t know how Abbott can sit there when being interviewed without squirming when he is shown a replay of his lies on TV during the campaign.
Then again if one is a pathological liar, and a narcissistic psycho with absolutely no empathy for people at all it naturally follows that he cannot accept or even consider that he is at fault in any way.
    The bastard should be committed.
    Cheers 🙂

    • Truth Seeker says:

Consider, thanks for your comment 😎 and kind words 😀

Yes mate, he really does need professional help 😯 and that’s the word from said professionals too 😉

I hope you and Considerette are both doing well 🙂

      Cheers 😀

    Thank you Truthie

    Will comment later.

Appropriate sentiments couched in a great call!

Thanks for “putting it out there”, we can only hope that some of Abbott’s “Dawn of the living dead” bogans reedem their souls.

Watching Abbott, Hockey et al over the weekend I was reminded of the carnival shysters with their various versions of the pea and thimble. Abbott’s classic, “people hear things I didn’t say” is just so reminiscent of the carnival shyster’s “now you see it now you don’t” routine.

Some 60 years ago, at the Royal Melbourne Show, I witnessed a pea and thimble merchant get taken down by a gent who took up the shyster’s offer of a cash prize if he could pick where the pea was. After all the mumbo jumbo the shyster asked the punter where the pea was. The punter nominated the middle and before the shyster could turn it up, the punter lifted the two end tumblers.

  6. David Somerville says:

As I read Truthie’s dissection of this damaging budget drivel from the LNP, I found in unbelievable and inconceivable that “adults” could be so stupid or insensitive. It’s almost impossible to put into words any description of the LNP resembling human beings with feelings. Much as I would like Abbot to call a DD, he doesn’t have that suicidal courage in him to call the saying goes “turkeys don’t vote for Christmas” and king turkey would not like taste of the stuffing either.

    • Truth Seeker says:

David, welcome 🙂 , and thanks for your comment 😎

I love the “Turkey” analogy 😀 and he might not like the taste of stuffing, but he’s certainly trying hard to “Stuff” himself anyway! 😉

      Cheers 😀

  7. oldfart says:

why not have a peoples referendum on whether or not the liberal and national parties really do reflect societies values anymore and should thy be deemed to be banned political organisations?

  8. consider says:

Just heard the number one cheerleader for Abbott`s mob, Lyndel Curtis on 24, giving Shorten a hard time.
She is trying to blame Labor for all the bad things in Abbott`s budget.
When the cuts hit the ABC I hope she is the first one to go, but I`m afraid she will be the first one they will retain.
She has certainly shown her true colours.

    • Truth Seeker says:

Yes mate, I saw her too, but it certainly looks like Shorten has taken on board what people have been saying, as he seems to be more passionate and engaged since his speech 😉

      And not before time! 😀

      Cheers 😀

  9. my say says:

every time abbott opens his mouth, more lies just spew out of it,it just beggers belief ,one day he say’s in three years time the states will be robbed of their money for hospitals and education,,then today it is from july one,can we all demand that the GG throw this lying mob out

    • Truth Seeker says:

My say, thanks for your comment 😎

Yes, for someone that staked his reputation on NOT breaking promises, he obviously doesn’t care much for his reputation 😉 or lack thereof? 😯

He treats us with contempt! 👿

      Cheers 😀

  10. Jim says:

Sack them. Don’t get played with the hospitals. We’ll all be left in a heavy monopolised dump with all the cash going out of the country. How kind or merciful do you think the hospitals will be with the costs our bone scavengers charge?
Dont trust Bill or labour, dont wait, they’ll throw a hundred distractions. Go for the throat.

  11. olddavey says:

$7.00 = 2 loaves of bread from our local bakery.

  12. olddavey says:

“Every man, woman and child for themselves… unless you’re rich, then we’ll support you all we can!”
Or as The Three Stooges said, “One for all and all for one and every man for himself.”

  13. Jim says:

Aside from our lords and masters telling us in no uncertain terms that they are privatising the hospitals, does anyone know just what the set up is for health or where it can be viewed?

  14. frontad84 says:

Loathsome Abbott along with his Acolytes
Wants to see the Libs name up in lights
    But with loads of Negativity
And not a trace of humility
Were being ruled by bloodsucking Parasites.

If the Misogynist Party was wise
It would stop echoing all Abbotts lies
    Which in the long run
    Will bring them undone
And a Party that all will despise

Those who think they have class
    And support the Liberal farce
    Are the fat headed Voters
    And all the big noters
Whose heads are stuck right up their arse.

The Libs are not looking their best
Now the Budget is fast going west
And if I was the Abbott
    I’d get into the habit
    Of wearing a bulletproof vest.

    • Truth Seeker says:

Frontad84, thanks for that 😀 and I’m glad to see you’re still firing (Pardon the pun 😉 ) 😀

BTW, you might enjoy my latest post “Said the Abbott to Smokin’ Joe” 😀

      Cheers 😀
