QLD, Beautiful one day…..?

With the advent of the latest news of Campbell Newman looking to sell off some schools, and now thinking of doing away with compulsory voting in QLD, I thought it was worth re-visiting my poem “King Can Do Campbell”.
With these and all the other cuts that he has perpetrated on the people of QLD, is he a precursor to what an Abbott government would look like?

King Can do Campbell

He won the poll he beat the odds
And rode the wave of victory sweet
“I’m humbled”, he said, “by your trust in me”
Then he humbly scoffed at Blighs defeat

🙄

“We’ll be more transparent” was his pledge
As he sought to bypass the watchdogs role
Then employed Costello, his liberal mate
To fudge the books, to support his goal

😯

To slash and burn the public sector
Sacking all that he could see
Cutting funding to hospitals
And support for disability

👿

He said “I’m sorry if this causes pain
But cos of debt this needs to be.
Go whinge to those that lost their seats,
It’s all their fault…you can’t blame me.”

😯

As Mayor of Brissy, his mates got rich
And his family business truly thrived
And though his stage is bigger now
His nepotism’s kept alive

😉

The legacies from his Mayoral tenure
Expensive bikes and the great Clem seven
And now he’ll visit this upon us
In his own sad version of right wing heaven

😦

So for those who wish to see our country
In the incompetent hands of the rabid right
Then look to Baillieu, O’Farrell and Newman
And ponder on our country’s plight.

😥

For all these “leaders?”, lies and backflips
Are their proven stock in trade
Supported by self serving interests
With billions they’ve already made

😯

So open eyes and ears and minds
To what is really being said
Ignore the slogans and the spin
Or by the nose you will be led

🙄

To hand the keys of this great nation
To the Abbott’s vacuous team
To rape and pillage our economy
And realise a nightmare… from the dream.

👿

Update.
A friend in Victoria hurt herself on the way to work, and was effectively dumped by the workers comp system, while the respective insurance companies fought over who was liable, continually passing the buck.

Now we see Newmans gov talking about privatisation of the workers comp system in QLD. 😯

Talk a about realising a nightmare from the dream!

Just imagine what Abbott and Hockey could do, given the opportunity 👿 It doesn’t bare thinking about.

English: Brisbane City Floods. Brisbane Lord M...

Would you trust this man?

April 2013 Update.

With more and more cuts being made, and the Costello (I’ll tell you what you want to hear mate) Audit, about to be released along with the ensuing fire sale of assets, and the federal election looming, we need to see the link between Newman and Abbott as it is becoming increasingly clear that Newman is “Tony Abbotts Mini Me”.

If only we could get every adult in Australia to read this, sigh. Well done, oh and post it on TPS for people who don’t come to your site, like Patricia does. 🙂

I love the way that you ignore the follies and foolishness of the previous Bligh Government as the reasons that Newman has had to do the things he does and the reason that he won by such a landslide.

Iain, Bligh made some bad decisions, no doubt, but Newman has made nothing but bad decisions based on fudged figures supplied by Costello’s audit.

The point that you have missed is that Newman is Abbott lite.

We know this because the federal LNP have already admitted that they will commission a similar audit, and they have canvased the idea of doing away with compulsory voting.
They constantly talk of cutbacks, and like the LNP state govs, are proven liars. 👿

You are welcome to comment here, but please keep it light, and try giving some facts to back up your arguments. 😯

    Cheers :grin

“Fudged figures” so wheres your facts to back this up. And don’t bother re-spouting Labor or Unions garbage.

Kram, thanks for your comment, unfortunately there is nothing i could say that would change that closed mind, as you are obviously averse to the truth, but you could always check out the QLD treasury web site, if the original figures are still up, (doubtful) or look at Screwmans apology for getting the figures wrong, or you could look at Costellos record, and see that he has form, but you want to believe that lying little bottom feeder, and that is your prerogative. 😦

Ignorance is bliss so they say, so I hope you and your ignorance will be very happy together 😯 And you should also hope that you or yours don’t get sick, or get threatened by a bushfire, or need help from the SES, as you might then realise the damage that these right wing ideologues have done in less than a year, for NO reason. 👿

        Cheers 😀 😆

TS, seems you believe in miracles.

If one moves away from the Costello audit, one made according to his rules, the state was not in that bad of a position.

Yes, it was facing problems, big problems. None so bad that one had to destroy everything to survive.

Queensland suffered more than most from the GFC, as much of its economy depends on tourism.

It was then faced with statewide, once in a century or more, natural disasters. Ones that tore the guts out of the economy.

We will have Hall come back with they should have insured. This was not a option, as to do so, was economically unsound.

Yes, it was also an old and weary government, and one expects under a democracy, to be replaced.

What is occurring in Queensland is all about ideology. Nothing else. We need to remember, that Mr. Abbott thinks the sun shines out of this man’s arse, and we will get more of the same from him. A programme of massive demolition of what we take for granted today.

Mr. Howard began the push of changing the voting laws more to their liking. The state premiers are continuing his quest. Do we really want the USA system, where as many obstacles to casting one’s vote that they can think of.

Glad to have a new site to visit. Looking forward to buying some of your output.
