Have a drink… Have a bite to eat… Have your say!

Due to the number of comments on the original “Lounge” page, and the fact that some were finding it very slow to load, we will start fresh with a page for all our fine patrons   😀

Hopefully this will solve the loading problem, and give us plenty of room to continue our conversations.   😉

So grab a drink and something to eat, make yourself comfortable, sit back and enjoy the show, or better still… be a part of it   😯

    Biggy,
your mate DJ is back pursuing you over debt.
I left a message for Russ there, thought it would stir him up
    Hey Russ,
has Rusty Nuts been around ?
I need to check with him, cause he has his ear on local government and our Greens local candidate for all things, for donkeys years Local, State, Federal elections has now gone Independent .
His polling results had dropped faster than the polar ice caps , but not sure of the reason for him changing
Thought he might know why, as he like to stir up the local council

Cornie mate, sorry for the rushed reply about the car, but I’ve been rushing all day 😦

Mate the originals were bloody unreliable, and hugely expensive, but I heard that the latest replicas are pretty damned good. 😀 although if I got into it, you’d probably have to bury me in it, cos I wouldn’t be able to get out of it again 😯 but that aside… go for it mate 😀

On the issue of DJ, he reminds me a bit of Douggie who I first came across at TPS, and wasted a few good days trying to discuss his green ideologies, but he always assumed that he came from a superior, moral and intellectual position, even though he was a dickhead. 😉

Sadly he did have some good ideas, but they were completely discredited by his superior and patronising attitude towards any view other than his own.

He occasionally has an article posted on AIMN, but I can’t even be bothered reading them cos I know he’s such a knob! 😯

Likewise Mikisdad, who is also a rude and arrogant twerp! 😯 But you get that? 😉

Cornie, mate my priorities have changed over the last few years, and where I used to dream of one of the great sporting marques to throw into corners and generally have fun with, now it’s mostly about comfort… mostly?… so now if I had the money I’d go for the new Range Rover Sport 😯

But that’s just me… I’d go for the turbo V6 diesel but they do do a stonking V8 😀

I know I leave a carbon footprint the size of an elephant, but I love V8s.
I try to make it up in other areas .
Me and the missus were talking yesterday, if we could have some of the cars we owned back now, Holden HR and HD holdens an EJ, Monaros Valiant Chargers [I had 5 of them in all}, Torana’s, Ford Fairlaine, a couple of Falcom V8s etc.
She keeps reminding me of my first ever car that the old man bought me, when I signed up for my apprenticeship.
                  A bloody Austin A40 ute.
It had pipe racks, so held heaps of surfboards, and it was legal then for all my mates to pile in the back.and did about 10 mph up hills
I think that car alone was responsible for me liking V8s 🙂

I get asked questions on IA how are things going for Labour here concerning drunken Buswell.
So I answer honestly the the MSM nurse him,the LNP nurse him and Bill Shorten nurses him.
Of course this does no good as it makes no one happy an answer like that.
So again truthfully I say to them well the poll for Labor goes down when Shorten visits WA and of course some don`t want to hear that.
So a while ago I told them that Bullock and Shorten had fallen out for a number of reasons but mainly because Shorten wants to distance HIS Labor away from the unions who have been the main supporters of the Labor Right.
Of course they don`t want to hear that either so I could go on with a lot more and say that Louise Pratt with the help of Alannah McTeirnan and Tanya Pilbersek can look after themselves as a team to get Louise in on their own,but they also wouldn`t like to hear that.
So I know by conversing on IA which is far better than AIMN for intelligence of commenters that there are very many who support Labor but live in some type of utopia about the Party that doesn`t exist except in their heads.
Like Ron Ostrowski whom I only beginning to converse with again after an hiatus for a while because he told me if he were to join Labor he would support Labor as right faction rank and file.
Then he told me he didn`t want to here anything about factions because he didn`t believe there was much difference.[ how Labor is becoming a right wing government like the US democrats]
So of course I told him quite a factional story and well he spat it and only came back a week ago replying to me because obviously he`s been not only reading up but seeing for himself.
I`m letting off steam here Truthy because sometimes it`s like Billy Bragg says,”If you think you get persecuted for your religious beliefs, then hey wait and see what they say and do to Socialists”.
Yet it`s Socialism they are all striving for,and they`re just too scared to use the S word.
Why cannot people understand that a Social Democratic government is a Socialist one.
    OH well onward and upward.
    Never say Never
    Left and Strong Forever.

Or who ever is organising your your polling place for Labor locally.
and usually these get sent to the branch with the how to votes and all the election day stuff
You need to have a signed authority letter from one of the Candidates for Labor, which you must fill in and sign for the Electoral Officer, you just hand it in just before polls close or he will collect them
If you do it, you should enjoy it, and it gets you in good with the ‘Local Member “if it’s ALP of course.

Clive`s making himself heard in his own auspicious way as he somehow turns bad publicity into his favour,
He`s certainly got them listening on the GST returns here as WA only gets 40% of it`s GST dollar back and subsidises the rest of Australia with the 60% left over.
Lib or Lab can`t come into the conversation because the Eastern States will spit it so he`s got the whole floor on that issue and believe me it`s a BIG one here.

    Morning all
Biggie, I enjoyed your midnight post. My reaction is that it is a thoughtful and deeply reflective of what is meant by “Labor” in the modern context.
We are our own worst enemy and in a very real sense I lay the issues at the feet of the political and the parliamentary arms. The splintered arguments that populate the posts at IA are reflective of the structure of especially the parliamentary party.
    Lack of cohesive direction.
    Poll driven policies.
    Populism.
    Factionalism on steroids.
A failure to generate genuine discussion of difficult policy eg asylum seekers.
I’m concerned that I might not see Labor ever again in the position where it ought to be.

You’re right about DJ being a mini-me of Doug Evans.

Doug, or his mate at the time, also made the crack to the effect that if you didn’t go to university then you’re not smart enough to vote Green.

I nearly jumped all over DJ’s post about having been to Uni and having done ‘economics’.

It has been my experience that some of the worst cases of pig ignorant stupidity I’ve ever known have come from Uni grads.

I have told the story at IA of an experience that I barely remember but that my old Dad used to remind us about quite often. When I was quite small, I think around 1946, Dad had some help from our neighbour to fix our front gate. The neighbour, a ‘tradie’ was using a brace and bit. An extremely elderly gentleman who lived nearby stopped to talk to Dad and to observe the tradie.
When the work was done the old gent asked the tradie, and pointing to the brace and bit, what is “that remarkable instrument”.
Unremarkable, except for the fact that the old gent was the Emeritus Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Melbourne University.

Dad often reminded me, and his grandchildren, that there is considerably more to inherent, or acquired, intelligence, aptitude, common sense, and how a man uses all of those qualities than the mere possession of a university degree.

In a sense my father still speaks to me about DJ, Doug Evans, Abbott, Brandis and all the others who consider themselves superior.

DJ is so far up himself it’s almost tomorrow.

Morning Frank, 😀 Yes mate, Douggie and friends are like so many other nut-jobs, just from the other extreme 😯

And mate you are dead right about uni qualifications not necessarily being worth the paper they’re printed on. 😯 and Abbott is a prime example of a dickhead with degrees. 🙄

The other issue is that even if one is over endowed with intelligence, without a modicum of empathy for your fellow man and the not so common “common sense”, the holders of said degrees can prove more than counter productive to the common good.

Then add sociopathy into the mix, and you have… The LNP! 😯

Jpeg works fine for me – twas cherry-red 1969 boss engine Mustang.

My first motorbike was a Suzuki Stinger (probably because it sounded like a mosquito), 125cc – it hated hills also. Much happier when I advanced to a Honda CB400TI (RED) – so much safer! Didn’t get blown across freeway, sucked under trucks, easier to cross over tram tracks in rain. Anything less than a 250CC chould be banned. Unlike Harleys can lean into corners without flipping – something I just like to point out at any excuse.

    @Cornie

One of the reasons to be Green is to save what oil we have left. Am for road cars to be totally electronic – there will be clubs for those who hanker for beasts.

That fuktard Bullock has driven the final nail as far as I`m concerned and it`s time for all Labor Lefties to band together online to attack these Right Faction Right Wing Corporate arseholes 👿 who have stolen our Party 😛 .

  23. Good afternoon all. I am just expanding on Bighead’s post on IA about the next march… If you hate ‘woo-woo’, don’t waste your eyesight on this post. 🙂

In the mundane chart for Canberra 11:11am 31 Aug 2014, there is much planetary activity above the ‘horizon’ (collective, philosophical approaches) and there is a good balance between left (self-awareness, will power, independence) & right hemispheres (relationships, interpersonal dynamics). Below the horizon (inner life, deeper meditations and motivations) are Pluto (power), Uranus (eccentricity), Neptune (dreams) and Chiron (healing). The Moon (in this case representing ‘the people’) is in Scorpio (Moon’s fall – gosh darn it!)… BUT it is sextile (nice energy) to Sun in Virgo (work, health, finer details) and has other support. Moon is square (tension) Jupiter (abundance, growth, expansion) in Leo (the ‘king’). Moon is trine (very nice) Neptune in Pisces – where it rules dreams. Moon sextile Pluto (death, rebirth) in Capricorn (power structures, oligarchs). Moon is also conjunct Ceres (sustainability, survival) so this may be an added oomph when speaking for our beloved planet (I hope). Mercury is in Virgo (a sign it rules and is comfortable in) so it is in its dignity – yes Bighead, you are correct about communication. Venus (values, love, the other, money) is in Leo (where she can be a bit of a diva / glory-hog) and she will be also tightly conjunct the midheaven point – so she is really quite prominent in this chart and may lend a gentle but powerful roar (the lioness provides for the pride after all!) to the days proceedings. Saturn (limitations, rules) in Scorpio (sex, money, power) focuses on relationships, expressing feelings, family issues, emotional needs and compassion. Being in Scorpio could point to ‘power struggles’ and this may be an underlying thing as he is conjunct Mars (war) there. Mars is the other ruler of Scorpio so is very comfortable with his placement (but might find Saturn being so close a bit stodgy / restrictive while trying to boil the water). Saturn and Pluto are in ‘mutual reception’ through their placements in opposing signs (they ‘get’ each other) so there is support for both planets’ expression through their respective houses. The square between Pluto in Capricorn & Uranus (surprise, lightning fast change, innovation) in Aries (self, dynamic energy, initiative) shows tension and vulnerability (both planets are retrograde). Looking at the asteroids, there is a (depending on orb / influence) grand water trine between Chiron (healing of psychic wounds)15 deg 46′ in Pisces, Vesta (the sacred) 12 deg 42′ in Scorpio, and Juno (the veil separating the unconscious and consciousness… also blind fundamentalism) at 11 deg 49′ in Cancer (nurture, family, healthy fears). The rising sign for the chart is Sagittarius (philosophy, education, travel, expansion) and this would lend fiery dynamism and broader ideas.

Essentially, I perceive that there are both flowing energies and stressful energies happening on the day but it is up to us to channel them effectively. There is much more to see in this chart but I would still be writing and evaluating into next week. Separate charts would need to be done for each location to get the angles and individual rising sign, but essentially, most would have similar energies expressed. Cheers.

PS – Mr Abbott will probably think that we are marching to commemorate the death of Diana, Princess of Wales… His Juno will be showing if he does!

Your work is calculated and as you say positioning of all aspects is paramount for correct analysis.
But the general trend of an August 31st March is social media and with Pluto having absolutely anything to do with Capricorn and Uranus making it a dangerous situation as Saturn in Scorpio may not be strong enough to curtail the Power influence that will cause police violence to disrupt protesters.
Your rising sign definition virtually confirms that this march will glean a violent response.
Thanks for your marvelous work M8. 🙂

    Afternoon all
Kind thoughts to any of our regulars that aren’t feeling the best.

Biggie, I hope the numbers fall the correct way for you next week and I hope the experience is a happy one for you.

I was reflecting on whether or not your prospecting is above or below ground. The reason being that, in either case, I assume that you’ve aggregated local knowledge about surface opening , vertical shafts. If so, can you do us all a favour and see if you can encourage Joe Bollocks to stand a bit too close to the edge of a very, very deep one.

I don’t know if the reports of comments attributed to him are accurate but if the allegation about his public reference to Louise Pratt’s domestic arrangements are correct then I am ashamed to say I support Labor (at least in its current manifestation). I would choose not to be associated with any party of which he was a part, save for the fact that Labor, and the principles that drive it will outlast him and some of his tory mates.

What a despicable, fat, malicious grub!

The good thing about the Senate is that WHEN he quits, it can be filled by a casual vacancy.
This prick on his own could take Labor to a place where they never recover, and the SDA and AWU need to join him.
If Shorten wasn’t well aware of all this shit, and it was pretty common knowledge then he needs to join Boofhead Bollock on the sidelines.
The Big Clown Bollocks sent out emails today apologising, and said he didn’t mean it, out of context, all the normal bullshit,

    Biggy,
    I couldn’t wait,
Ive already emailed Shorten, I can’t cause as much damage as that fool Bullock has, and the polls are almost closed.
    I sent this.

    Dear Bill,
I write to you with a feeling of sheer desperation
The proud Labor Party has every possibility of rapidly passing into irrelevancy when we need a strong, committed Party to stand and fight the scourge that is this current LNP Government.
Now the efforts of the Opposition in taking the fight to the LNP hasn’t been all that great, but events that have surfaced during the West Australian Senate election have left me dumbfounded.
How, Bill, did Joe Bullock ever get the top spot on the ALP Senate ticket?
I expect the leadership of the ALP to put forward good strong Candidates to protect and enhance the Australian Labor Party and represent the interests of all Australians, especially the workers, the battlers and those in need.
Now Bill, I feel I have worked for the ALP to get a good strong team of Senators elected in West Australia, and I now find we may have worked for Labor to provide a cross bencher, or even one who would cross the floor.
I am horrified to read in the Australian Newspaper
” Senior Labor MPs told The Weekend Australian yesterday they feared that the deeply ¬conservative Mr Bullock would resign from the party to sit on the crossbenches after he arrived in Canberra, a move that would boost Tony Abbott’s ability to pass key legislation.”
    What has happened Bill ?
I read where Bullock is a mate of Tony Abbotts, and in fact Bullock encouraged Abbott to join the Liberals.
    I also read Bullocks
” comments he made at a Christian gathering last November that he had ¬personally voted against Labor, whose members he described as “mad”.
A lot of my friends are members Bill, and believe me, they are MAD, not in the way Bullock expressed it, but in a way I’m sure you’ll see.
    I also read
” “Canberra is a very, very lonely place,” said one federal Labor MP from Western Australia.
“If Joe is ostracised by everyone in the Labor Party, then he can’t have any impact (and) if that means sitting on the cross-benches, he will give that ¬consideration.”
And the election votes haven’t even been counted yet.
Bill, how did you let it get to this.
I took offense at this statement Bill
” In an extraordinary speech to a Christian function in November, Mr Bullock said the Labor Party needed conservatives in parliament or else it would follow “every weird Lefty trend that you can imagine”
And after six months of fighting this monstrous mob of LNP grubs, commonly known as the Government, with all the hurt it has created already, This fool Senator elect says
” He praised Tony Abbott as “potentially a very good prime minister”

Now I see this as having serious implications for the ALP but even greater impact on everyday Australians, as we won’t feel we have a “proper” ALP Senator there to fight the good fight.
Bill, I am really pissed at the way this Buffoon, this moron, this stooge of the SDA bagged Senator Louise Pratt, someone the Labor Party has every reason to feel very proud of.
” Mr Bullock also launched a stinging attack on his ALP running mate in the Senate election, Louise Pratt, accusing her of canvassing votes against him and questioning her sexual preference
I hope Senator Pratt did canvas votes against him, she would have been doing the honourable Labor thing, if she did.
For this sexist pig ” questioning her sexual preference”
    And, Bullock continued,

“In his speech, Mr Bullock said he would rather be expelled from the Labor Party than vote in support of issues such as gay marriage and abortion”
Bill, I call on you to bring some reason to this.
There is one thing this disgrace to the ALP did say and I tend to agree
” In the speech, Mr Bullock also attacked the Labor Party as being out of touch with the concerns of ordinary voters.”
Here’s your chance to ensure the voters know Labor is “in touch”

I don’t know how Bill, but you need this fool gone now.
You need to get his written resignation in hand.
Pressure the SDA to take him back
Just get rid of him, create a casual Senate vacancy and fill it with a true representative of Labor,
The vote has not closed in W.A. yet, but I can see Labor slipping away .
You sought Leadership Bill, now you must show it.
Rid the ALP of this cancer Bullock , before it spreads through the body of the ALP.
    Do something Bill.
    I am mad as hell
I can’t wait until next week to join all the others, many ,many others already showing desperation online at Bullock..
If you don’t show courage, and some quality leadership on this pity help the ALP.
    BULLOCK HAS TO GO

We need a Casual Senate Vacancy created, and we need it now.
    Leadership time Bill.

Wow M8 you have been busy and I must say you`ve worded that extremely well.
I like your premise in talking straight to Shorten and it`s very obvious now what the fight Shorten and bullock had was about.
But Shorten did not have to give in on the number one spot simply because of the reasons you mentioned.
These arseholes have used their union proxies for damage to the Party for long enough.
Ged Kearney is part of my attack plan as to letting them all know how many rank and file feel.
Both Kearmey and Bullock know that “New Labor” is shifting away from the unions.
Howes knew this and moved because his ALP free lift in politics had missed his boat and Bullock, bullocked his way in.
Kearney has the BIG decision though as she carries the most union say ans sway for the right faction and by her knowing that things are changing her “crossing of the Rubicon moment” is coming very soon.
The US Party`s are both right wing and have their hands in the corps pockets as the corps have the gov in theirs.
The same is happening here now and the Left knows this as well.
So the natural reality may be that the ACTU pushes the right out of the equation otherwise it`s a slow death for it.
Tell if you believe I`m on the mark M8.

Yeah Truthie, anything but face the truth. I am thinking that much of the electorate are fatigued but not from voting but from politics that is becoming more and more irrelevant to their own lives. So much of the debate is dishonest and ideological that it is hard to find direct relevance. Victoria Rollison nay have touched on it, Use the KISS (keep it simple stupid) principle. Also a play it the degradation of the community respect for all things political. Swings to PUP and Greens could continue, meaning more coalition Governments in the future, then Governments have to put in more effort and learn how to govern for the electorate not the backers.

One result is that it is the sociopaths rising to the top as they are more competitive rather than more competent.

Special commendation to Cornlegend – that letter to Shorten a clear statement of truth. Have you tried The Conversation or even Hoopla? These sites reach a lot of people. The only thing I’d change is referring to Bullock as a “sexist pig”. Maintain moral superiority. I hope you do not consider me out of line for this suggestion – you are in the bull-pit and I’m just a side liner.

This talk of ‘protest’ votes only has limited validity. I know why I and many people no longer vote Labor:

    Refugees,

Climate change – really ballsed up Carbon charge and not much more to build on that.

and continuing to stay in bed with big corpa – particularly miners.

If Labor can display some moral fibre – there are many people who would support. Also jumping on every mistake the Abbottoir makes daily – this federal government is a gold mine of material.

BTW, this is just my personal opinion – what are referred to as protest votes for such as the Greens or the newly minted PUP are gaining more than just disaffected Labor or Liberal voters – the Greens actually do offer serious policies and I guess PUP is picking up the more rebellious conservative (if that’s not an oxymoron) – I’m sure that listening to Abbott & co must make many a true conservative cringe.
