I too like diversity , but accept realism too, and would just like some Parties {Greens} to accept the realities of the result and not try to claim what isn’t.
There were some sensational results , almost overlooked , like
Gladstone Results
Glenn Butcher ALP
37.9% swing to ALP
and the reality is that less than 1% for the Greens in such a toxic election is not a good result.
Katter’s Australian Party candidates. KAP ran candidates in 76 seats in 2012 this time only 11 so naturally their state average in % is down, however
In seats they ran in like
Mount Isa 9.6 % swing to KAP
Dalrymple 1.6 % swing to KAP
and even the unsuccessful ones, they had % increases
Palmer United Party has an increase of 5 %
Even Independent Peter Wellington got 11.0% swing to IND
I just accept the realities, not the fiction that sometimes gets pushed at us

This is what has to be the core value because last night Adam Bandt wasted no time in Tweeting that QLD ALP won because of Greens preferences.
So right away my lateral thinking jumped into gear thinking well who else are the Greens going to give their prefs to in a pref voting system if not the Party closest aligned to them.
They are not allowed to keep them and must distribute as far as I know of the AEC law pertaining to preferential voting.
I`ve had Greens tweet to me that because they support Medicare that they should have access to Gough`s good name.
I`ve had Greens Tweet to me that the believe that Gough would be more aligned to them and not today`s Labor.
They try and claim much from our passed away Father of Modern Labor and I for one will not stand any of it

How is the hangover Judes?
You and HO go to the top of the class for all your good work for Labor.
We know what it is like to spend all day on the booths and then scrutineer later on, knowing that we couldn`t toss out the Tory encumbent. Very frustrating. (That was back in the`70`s in the seat of Ryan).
Where we are now, we got our ALP member up with an 18.3% swing. All we have got to do now is get rid of the little twerp, Wyatt Roy at the next Fed. election and the job is done.

Brilliant Consider, 🙂 We are tickety boo and a half today… Taking it easy. We were not on the booths, but saluted all who were. Ours was the foot slogging..and the getting lost at nights while letterbox dropping. (Then spent our days fighting Tories on-line) as it’s tooooo hot and humid for us during the day here. 😦
Pretty much hacked off that we didn’t manage to move the smug LNP blob out of his seat, but gave him the fright of his political life, his ‘minder’ blames the attacks from on-line Labor trolls … We take a BOW !
‘Something’ I said, LOL must have upset the well known Tory weekend Chronicle moderator Mr Jamieson? Sunshine Coast … It appears that I am now in the ‘naughty corner’…, with just 3 very mild posts today. Will do a huge dummy spit tomorrow .. Ever so politely ( as you do) asking about freedom of speech and our FCC being unbiased and apolitical ?!

Just on a lighter but scarier topic, did anyone watch Rage after the election coverage finished and be sexually assaulted by Cliff Richard singing “Daddy’s Home”? (from Countdown ’81)
Extremely creepy after recent revelations about this kiddie fiddler.
And recently his films Summer Holiday and The Young Ones have been aired on the box, and you can see where he was headed just by the dialogue and mannerisms.
Those were the days!

Old Davey ..WHERE are you going with this ? I like Cliff Richard and always have . There is NO evidence of wrong doing, It all smacks of the ‘Craig Thomson same old, same old’, set up to me. 😦 Someone somewhere may have tried to add his name to the big $$$$ compensation hunt, perhaps wanting him to just pay them off. ?!
Strange …as usual in any ‘set up’ the press and a TV helicopter knew all about the raids on his house before he did ..With NO warrant, and he was out of the country, he said that had he known, he would have arranged for someone to simply let them in.
Best to Leave this one alone.
On a lighter note … Demis Roussos, was an enormous man, who sang the beautiful song … ‘My friend the wind’ …If I follow your analogy would that mean he was really a huge hot air balloon..?

I think it’s really important that we respect the legal system that tells us that a person is to be considered ‘innocent until proven guilty’. So much harm can be done if we are not careful about this. Whatever Gary Glitter or Rolf might have done, has got nothing to do with Cliff Richard. I’m not saying he is innoocent, because I can’t possibly know. I can’t say he’s guilty for the same reason. And I definitely can’t say he’s guilty because some other people are. Please let’s be careful, lest we do great harm ourselves.

Healthy sunshine,clean air and young people everywhere
They wave and come over to see what you`re up to with your detector and many great conversations begin all because of a healthy fun hobby.
Reminds me I have to buy silvo to do some old coins as i`ve run out.
The last nice old one I detected was a Federation Penny { I call it that because it`s 1901 Queen Vic Penny}
If I had one more I`d get a thousand dollars for the pair as two up pennies-minimum,possibly more on E-Bay auction

The LNP are really crapping themselves about the ramifications 😀 and the chatter is about how Abbott can survive, if he can survive 😀
But the reality is that taking over from Abbott and trying to rebuild would be just another poisoned chalice 😯 but then all portfolios in this sad excuse for a government are poisoned challis’s so at least they have experience I suppose 😉
