Abbott’s War of Class
With the LNP claiming almost daily, that the ALP are waging a class war, I felt compelled to look at what’s really going on and who are the real culprits in the class war debate.
The truth is that the ALP are trying to achieve balance in a system which has been sharply skewed in favour of the wealthy, to the detriment of the majority of Australian citizenry, and it’s the LNP that are trying to skew legislation to further benefit the rich.
So it turns out that it’s Abbott’s war of class.
Abbot speaks extensively
About a war of class
And the divisiveness of Labor,
But he’s talking through his arse
It’s about right wing projection
And his propaganda spin
And another silly slogan
That has little truth within
🙄
It’s about his mates like Rinehart
And that Murdoch lot as well
And their crazy ideologies
And their puppets, right wing hell
That they want to foist upon us
In the name of all that’s fair
But the dinkum truth is, it’s the rich
About whom, they really care
😯
The carbon “tax” they say is bad
And hurting everyone
But the truth is something else again
Of credibility, they have none
Their alternate plan will aid the rich
While the poor, will be left hurting
As the big polluters get tax payer funds
For the carbon they are spurting
👿
On super they say the war is waged,
Against the richest retirees
That’s 16,000 millionaires
Who’s income tax they’d freeze
While millions of the lowest paid
Will cop another slug
From Abbott and his LNP
The right wing, class war, thug
😉
He’ll also hit the lowest paid
With taxes they must pay
By reducing the tax free threshold
To what it was, in Howard’s day
Along with cuts for pensioners
And the school kids bonus too
As they seek to save some money
By flushing futures down the loo
😯
They’ll tax 3,000 businesses, so
Wealthy women can be paid
At pay rates quite exorbitant
For personal choices made
Whilst many from the poorer set
Who lacking moneys voice
To have the family they desire
Still struggle with the choice
😦
So when Abbott talks of class war
He’s speaking of his own
The ones who think they’re born to rule
Who’s wealth is clearly shown
In all their vested interests
In the way they play the game
To win, no matter what the cost
Is always their main aim
😯
And Labors class war’s just another
Of Abbott’s many lies
To redirect the focus
From the dishonest things he tries
Like ruining reputations
Treating many just like fools
But the saddest thing, is the LNP
Are Murdoch’s… biggest… tools
😀
Hi Truthie. Well, you’ve done it again. This class war thing has been allowed to simmer away without anyone taking effective aim at it. There are so many issues that need to be taken up and scrutinised. It makes me tired just thinking about it.
Anyway, as you might have guessed, my favourite line is, ‘But he’s talking through his arse…’
Meanwhile, while you have been composing this lovely pome, we have a new post at Fair Media Alliance about Julian Assange, and all those good folks who would like to see him killed/murdered/assassinated – whatever, and who have used the media to spread their hate and their incitement to murder. http://fairmediaalliance.wordpress.com/
Happy day.

Hi Kate, thanks for your comment 😀 and you continued support 😎
Yes there are many statements that they get away with as there is no mainstream scrutiny of anything that the LNP says, so it’s up to the likes of you and me and the other great blogs like CW, IA, AIMN, TPS etc to do the work that they should be doing 😦
I have been very busy the last couple of days and have much reading to catch up on, which I hope to do today and tonight, but we have builders starting tomorrow so still lots to do 🙄
I look forward to reading your latetst, which I am sure is up to your usual, fine, standard 😀
Keep up the good work 😎
Cheers 😀 😎

wants to take every thing away and give nothing,
i wonder where he gets his examples from
when he says he is a Christian well i don’t believe it,, he just uses the word
Christians and non Christians alike care about people and what happens to them
he does not care on bit of us, in fact i wonder if he even likes his fellow aust.
the word power is used to much in the lnp vocab for my liking.

Martha, Unfortunately my local member is Peter Slipper and I doubt he would be particularly interested 😯 and sadly this is a very strong conservative area.
Having said that, there is a lot of dissatisfaction with Newman so I am hoping that there may be a backlash against him and Brough in Sept. 😀
There are certain ALP members who are actively informing them of sites like mine, so they may well get to read some of my poems. 😀 I know PMJG’s father was a fan of poetry so you just never know 😉

An interesting time in Australian politics.
Deception to the left of us, deception to the right.
All are participating in varying degrees.
From a personal view, I love it.
It gives me plenty of material for my Editorial Cartoons.

Great effort again Truthie,
As it is Labour Day I thought you may be interested in a little old songbook my dad left me.
It always reminds me of you, with your continuing fighting spirit.
Songs to fan the flames of discontent. Industrial Workers of the World
The Little Red Songbook was first published by a committee of Spokane, Washington locals in 1909,[1][2] (It was originally called Songs of the Workers, on the Road, in the Jungles, and in the Shops—Songs to Fan the Flames of Discontent.)[3] It includes songs written by Joe Hill, Ralph Chaplin, T-Bone Slim, and others. The early editions contain many of the labor songs that are still famous, such as “The Red Flag,” “The Internationale,” and “Solidarity Forever.” Thirty-six editions were published between 1909 and 1995.
you can download a pdf copy if you are interested.
I find some of the songs inspiring, but if nothing else, it is a good history of workers struggles from the early 1900s on.

Haven’t seen you around much since your return from hols, hope everything is OK?
Thanks for the thought, and I will check out the little red songbook when I get a chance, as we have builders starting this morning, and it’s shaping up ti be another busy week for us.
My sister arrives from the UK on Thursday for a couple of weeks, and it’s her birthday on Saturday.
Not sure how much writing I’ll get done, but will just have to play it by ear 😀
Cheers 😀

Didn’t realise what a mountain of stuff was waiting for me at home, after hols, especially one that included an unplanned week.
Hope you have a wonderful visit with your sister.
Take it a bit easy mate, and enjoy your family.
The fight will still be there when you return, and, maybe, like me , you will feel revitalised.
Best wishes mate

Yes, it’s amazing how things can build up when you go away for a week 😯
Glad everything is OK 😀
I will still be around, as although she will be staying with us, she will be spending a lot of time with my parents, as they are getting old, and due to the state of the tory run UK economy she’s not sure if and when she will be able to get back out. 😦
Cheers 😀

I have been visiting your musings for a while now and am impressed how well you put my/your thoughts into words. I’m heartened that i’m not the only one who thinks like that. Could you or one of your regulars point me in the right direction. I have trouble finding like minded websites. Who are TPS, AIMN, CW. I have found the IA and the Conversation. Is wordpress a home site for like minded people?

Jock, thanks for your comment 😀 and I agree it’s good to find like minded sites. 😎
The sites you asked about are all on my blogroll, at the bottom of the right hand panel.
TPS = The Political Sword
AIMN = Australian Independent Media Network
CW = Café Whispers
Hope that helps 😀

Thanks for the info. I only have limited daily internet time so its good to be able to get straight to the things that matter without spending hours trawling through right wing rubbish. I need a daily fix of spirit lifting news and commentary. Really appreciate your poetry just hope there are enough like minded people to stop Abbot.
cheers.
